I think it means that he we will renegotiate his contract once a month, not that he is obligated to play the entire month.

Why Karlsson? I'm really disappointed with him signing in Finland, and with Jokerit of all teams. What does he possibly have to accomplish suiting up for Jokerit? Is it worth the extra week or two before he could possibly join Frölunda? Why not come here and train with the team or the junior team like Stålberg for example, he could probably teach the juniors quite a lot about what it takes to make it in the NHL.

I always laughed at this jersey when scrolling through teams on the xbox. Now to see Karlsson wearing it will be interesting.

Hmm... Literally the same jersey.

It'll be like he's playing for Florida!

Pic from NHL-premiere 2009

Filatov (white #28) vs Kovalchuk (blue #17) in some random live KHL game: http://livetv100.com/webplayer2.php?...62&ci=167&si=2
Filatov has 6 points in 7 games btw this season.

It means that his commitment to Jokerit as his European team can be ended by the end of every month. Obviously he'd be able to leave Jokerit ASAP when/if a new CBA is reached.

Spezza played for Rapperswil for the first time tonight, they lost to Zurich Lions, last season's cup winner, 0 - 4.

Also, in an interview with a swiss newspaper, he was asked about his stay in Switzerland and CBA negociations and such. Link in german: http://www.suedostschweiz.ch/sport/j...age-des-lohnes

Abouth there being no apparent progress in negociations he stated: "It's frustrating. We want to have an agreement and a healthy league, but right now we're not even close. At this point, the owners haven't offered us anything even worth looking at. That's frustrating because we don't want to lose an entire season. But maybe that's just the politics of this game. I just hope we can have an agreement and that whole business will never be an issue again and we'll have labour peace [don't know how to translate that]"

Still interested to see how he does in Switzerland. If there's some interest I'll try to keep you updated.

Thanks for this information.

It doesn't sound like Jason's team is off to a very good start.
Also sounds like Jason is still singing the PA party line.
Do they really not think its worth responding to the Leagues last offer?
If that's the case, then this really is discouraging news.

Erik Karlsson scores the first goal of the year for Jokerit to put them up 1-0.
