The NHL is shut down and I'm going to keep talking about prehistoric video games; I don't care anymore.

But seriously next person who posts a video game picture is getting 5 for being OT.

It's funny when you think about the fact that this thread was the final spin off from all of our crazy mofo summer FA threads. Yah that worked out well. We didn't all waste about 4 days of our lives (when stringing the hours together) that we'll never get back.

I have to wonder if the red pandas are a curse. Not only did we not get a worthwhile signing done, but we got locked out. Is it possible the pandas are evil?

Lmao. This thread is exactly where it needs to be. Can't take life too seriously when the NHL is locked out. It's stressful enough not watching hockey.

I don't even want ESPN to discuss hockey. It'd be so bad.

Can't be any worse than the league is making itself look right now...

I'm saying when the league is on, and there are "analysts" discussing hockey. I've seen that show before, and I'd rather not see it again.

Hockey needs more Bob McKenzie's.

Every time i'm in the States or down South and all there is is ESPN, I want to kill myself. Even my wife is impressed I don't watch any sports during that period we are there for

And during hockey season they have those 2.6 seconds NHL highlights

I never turn on ESPN anymore. The only time I watch it is when Pitt is playing or there's Monday Night Football on.

Last year I was down south and it was at the same time Pujols had gotten hurt, they talked about it all ****ing day. Me and my friends couldn't believe it. We make fun of TSN and all but man we are so lucky to have TSN and Sportsnet compared to ESPN

I must be getting old because I don't even like Mike & Mike in the Morning anymore. Not that they ever covered hockey (they didn't) but it was at least entertaining and different from the rest of their coverage. I think I got burned out on it. Then I turned to C-Span in the morning and went from bored to alternately pissed off and depressed about my country.

Now I am leaving the TV off in the morning and trying to catch up on my reading instead.

That collective "Mother****ER!" you heard coming from the direction of NY has an explanation. Geno, get on a damn western airline and come back right now. Play rat hockey with Sid and Cooke until the league comes back.

[Turns out it is a shoulder injury, not a head injury... evaluated in a couple days according to Dreger.]

NPR can be insufferable in its own unique self-aggrandizing way.

please explain.

one of the happiest days of my life was when pittsburgh got a npr station with full-time talk radio, a year or so ago, thereby ceasing to be a land of hicks and barbarians and finally becoming a real city.
