Given that there aren't any junior prospects of significance to be rushed in the first place, that's an easy position to be in. Seriously, who would be called up in the first place? Colton Scissons?
All the significant folks are either already Admirals or in Europe.
EDIT: or in the NCAA *cough*cough*budish*cough*
Yeah we're just in a cycle right now where all our good CHL players have graduated while our other significant prospects are in college or Europe. CHL prospect pool is looking thin, but there's a few names out there that could make strides this year.
If there is a shortened season what will they do with the schedule?
If they just start at that day it would obviously be uneven in terms of division and conference games.
with tickets already printed and venues booked I suspect it would be one of those "its the best we can do" things and they would just play the rest of the year as scheduled.

I believe that's how it will be done. As a fan, I could care less if the preds have the worst schedule in the league. Just bring back hockey.
There is an out-clause in the contract that allows him to return to the NHL. Just sounds like a giant negotiating ploy. Either way, that deal is looking better and better.
Islanders are staying on the Island ... congratulations to Islanders fans ... just trying to figure out how much they're going to have to raise that roof to get more people into that arena ... 14.5 for hockey is kinda small

With yet ANOTHER season locked out, 14.5 might be a total season attendance figure for the entire League by that year...IF there is a league still operating .
Maybe I'm just feeling cranky. I dunno. It sure looks like the players and the league are going to p*ss away another entire season. Time for replacement players? How long would it take for the real players to start drifting back?

I find it pretty funny how a month ago the Owners showcased their proposal for the public to see. A few weeks later they don't even want to make public statements ahead of meetings because it could "impede productivity".
Geoffrion was sent to the hospital to undergo surgery after a hit in tonight's Bulldogs v Crunch game. It isn't life threatening according to the coach of the Bulldogs.
edit: here is a video of the hit. Credit goes to Fel 96 for uploading the video http://telly.com/6AA2N
Michael Russo @Russostrib
What an absolute joke this has become. Fehr: "We were advised in a voicemail message that the move that we made was unacceptable."
"Unsure of when talks will resume"
Wow....just wow. A freaking voicemail message?? Really?
John Shannon @JSportsnet
As Fehr speaks, NHL will speak later tonight to discuss the latest developments.
James Mirtle @mirtle
Brilliant work boys. RT @SunGarrioch: The NHL's offer last night was take it or leave. Fehr tried to negotiate off it.
