No dispute, there, the whole scene makes me sick. We may allocate blame a bit differently, but it really doesn't matter, we still end up in the same place - facing October without NHL hockey in Columbus.
No worries. The owners believe they will have an agreement in place with no need to cancel any regular season games. They are also working 24 hours a day, 7 days a week to get this done
They should make a sitcom about NHL players playing in other countries. It could follow them through the games, through the hilarious moments of them being unable to speak foreign languages, and even their issues with fellow teammates/fans. Completely original idea, honestly...
Yes, and when guys are sent to Springfield to rehab, they're taking ice time away from young fellow players in their own organization. Euro players are taking N. American jobs when they come over here to play, and now, those who return are taking jobs from their fellow countrymen. Again, the locked out players are not taking union jobs from fellow union members when they go overseas. It's a union matter, not a hockey matter. That's how I see it, anyway.
I agree. When the best league in the world has millionaires and billionaires p*ssing over money, I see no harm in the other leagues filling their ranks with the best players in the world to improve their product.
I just don't want to see our players getting injured while playing overseas.

Injuries happen in NHL games, too. It's just part of the game and it could only be prevented by asking players to stop doing what they do...playing hockey. If a player happens to be injured overseas, it should serve as a reminder to the owners that lockouts have dramatic downsides. Dare I say...a lesson to be learned for the future?
Apparently, Nikolai Zherdev is still a scoring player in the KHL, where they don't play defense. He scored a between the legs goal in a recent game; and I saw the video on TSN.
A common mistake with highlight videos: Replaying the same thing 6-7 times from all of the different angles. Just show it once, then another time with the best angle, and then move on to the next one. It was redundant on many levels - not complaining about the fact that you posted it, just that they could have lessened the time on it by 3+ minutes.
That was in fact Voracek feeding Novotny for that goal. Geoff Platt is also featured at #9 on the list, scoring from nearly the blueline.

Fair. Though I really enjoyed watching this. Enough that I even sought out one of the recent Top 10 Saves videos. Just because. (That one, the one from 9/17, seemed a bit odd -- for at least "#1" it seemed to me like they actually featured a bunch of different saves from the same game. Or maybe I'm imagining things.)
Blue Jackets' Russians in the KHL still has to lose a game.
Avangard lost 5 in a row before Nikitin made his debut and they finally won 2:1 yesterday.
Lokomotive has won 4 in a row since Anisimov arrived (prior to that they lost 2 in a row). Today they won 1:0 and Anisimov (#60) had an assist on the game winner. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=5GNjOV-QHQo
Agreed... and at the same time this is yet another "well, thank goodness it's not us" event for me.
I'm a bad person.

Thanks, Howson, for cleaning up MacLean's toxic waste. Welcome, Kekalainen; let's get good things built!
Max Mayorov and Zherdev are teammates now. Max didn't play a game for AkBars and was traded to Atlant. Tonight he played his 2nd game for them and scored a goal and an assist in 5:4 SO win on the road. Interesting that Zherdev in such high scoring game was pointless and minus-2.
Mayorov had an assist on the 1st Atlant goal and scored their last to tie the game at the end of regulation time.

Reason: Mayorov was traded for the 5th round pick of the KHL draft.

Does this mean that the cause of the horrific luck we had last year was...Rick Nash? And the "Luck O' The Jackets" will go to the Rangers whenever the season starts?

(Get well Nasher.)
My first impulse was simply to say "I hope so!", but frankly that's not the sort of crap I'd wish on anyone.
And besides, the first such event was the Yakupov CHL/KHL thing. That doesn't involve the Rangers or Nash at all.
Maybe the Hockey Gods have finally decided that kicking us while we're down, while hilarious and fun, has ultimately been played out? Maybe? Maybe? Please?
Please. All four pieces acquired could suddenly blossom into Hall-of-Famers, and Nash could retire next summer to become a Buddhist monk, and I'd STILL see nothing but "hurr derp howsam sux lol".

Jake Voracek and a draft pick for Jack Johnson - Good
Jake Voracek and a draft pick for Jack Johnson - Good
Kris Russell for Nikita Nikitin - Good
Rick Nash for Anisimov, Dubi, Erixon - Good
Yep, Howson sucks.
You're sugar coating this to make your point look better. The facts:
1. Jake Voracek, Sean Couturier, Adam Lowry for Jeff Carter - Bad
1a. All of the above for Jack Johnson and a 1st round draft pick - ??? we won't know the outcome completely for a few years.
2. Kris Russell for Nikita Nikitin - Let this one play out too, you never know if we just got a great stretch from an o.k. player.
3. Rick Nash, 3rd round pick, Stephen Delisle for Anisimov, Dubinsky, Erixon, 1st round pick - ???
I'll also note that the three trades you mentioned were after Craig Patrick came along as his adviser. It's not like he's come in and made this team a Cup contender in 6 years. While I will argue that this franchise is in definitively better shape than it was when he first arrived, I don't think he's our savior. One has to look at many various aspects of his tenure - including drafting, developing, and the staff he's hired. cough Scott Arniel cough

The vow of silence would certainly better fit his personality than team spokesperson did.
I like/love Nash. Seriously hope he does well for the Rangers.

Is there any place online selling Lokomotiv replica jerseys for this season? I'm interested in getting one to support the team and to get an Anisimov jersey.
I've looked at a couple of sites selling KHL jerseys but neither carry Lokomotiv.
