Dammit, could a mod change that to Loktionov?

Makes sense. He's worked his butt off but there's just no room for him. I just don't think that he was ever the type of the player that fits into the Kings' offense. Hope he gets a shot somewhere else, he's done everything he's been asked to here.

He has solid AHL numbers, but they don't seem to have translated to the NHL. Has he been playing 4th line minutes while in LA? I remember him being pretty highly touted and I'd hate to see him go the way of Oscar Moller. Is he a two-way player who can fit into an NHL teams bottom 6 or is he top 6 or bust?

He will be traded in the next 2 years but he won't be traded soon after his request, brings down his value.

Top 6 or bust for Loki.

Hypothetically he doesn't fit in the foreseeable future.

Brown-Kopitar-Williams
Penner-Richards-Carter
King-Stoll-Lewis
Clifford-Fraser-Nolan
Gagne, Richardson, Westgarth

Not mention kids in Manchester who will be getting shots soon like Toffoli, Vey, Kozun, etc etc.

What would it take to get Loki from LA? One of the most underrated youngsters in the NHL, would love him on the Caps.

I'd love to see Loktionov on the Caps, but it's bringing another youngster with little experience. With still young Backstrom as our 1C, all key defensemen being young and several top6 prospects incoming (Kuznetsov, Galiev, Forsberg...), I can't see the Capitals acquiring Andrei. It's not a kindergarden.

Florida or Chicago would be good teams to trade and take a chance on him. Goc isn't really a legit 2nd line center, or with Chicago Sharp could fit back to wing. Dont know... Just my 2 cents.

I feel like Chicago could be a decent place for him to get an immediate shot at the #2 C. If he can produce right away he'd lock it up.

Dallas could be another place so they could move Benn to wing.

I would hope he could be moved for a 2nd, or I'd begrudgingly accept a high 3rd. Anything less would be a disappointment.

Either that or a young defensive defenseman who would be able to play in the NHL very soon. Given that Mitchell and Scuderi are both getting up there/having their contracts expire, it will be the next hole that needs to be filled.

Give him to the Blues and let him run wild with Tarasenko and Steen.

i would like to offer a different answer then King'sPawn I think a 2nd is a fair offer but i don`t see the kings needing a defenseman They have alot already campbell muzzin and drewiske are all young up and coming defensive defenseman. The last thing the kings need is defense. I would suggest we need a young winger prefer lw over right ready for the nhl next year as gagne and penner will be free agents.

If your team has a traditional shut-down 3rd line he won't be a good fit. Loktionov back checks hard and is crafty in all three zones, but he is too small to play up the middle in tha role. If your team is more puck-possession oriented, he could prosper in that third line spot.

He is smart and a gifted playmaker, but you aren't going to see results playing with 4th line level wingers. I love the kid, but there is no room for him here, and I hope he can find a decent home very soon. He's ready. Think a Filppula-type player.

Given how last year went for Chicago, I'd assume if they were looking to acquire a potential No. 2 centre in a trade, it'd be for a player much more proven in that role than Loktionov. They have young players like Marcus Kruger and Brandon Pirri who are both pushing for playing time on the Hawks (Kruger spent 2011-12 with Chicago), so if they're going to give a young player a chance, it'll likely be one of their own kids.

Lokti has the skillset to be a #2C. Just wont happen with the Kings.

A 2nd would probably do it.

Agreed. I'd love to send him East, too. I could see him doing extremely well on the Capitals.

I could see him being dealt to Chicago for say Beach. Or in a package deal with Bernier to Toronto for a guy like Ross and a package of picks.

I could see this too. If Glennie pans out, great, otherwise it's Loktionov for a 2nd.
