Like I hate Semin being Sjomin (in Finnish). It's Semin for me, that's how I learned to know the guy. Same goes to Fedorov, he should be Fjodorov used in Finnish, but it's Fedorov for me forever.
Ya, they do the same in Swedish. Ovetjkin, Datsiuk, Kovaltjuk, Siomin. Honestly I don't mind the spelling if it's pronounced the same, but Siomin etc. gets silly. Transcribed names for the sake of North America are kinda like artist names anyway and you get used to them. It's not like the Swedish or Finnish players are pronounced the right way either.

Yeah, some people here in Finland whine when Finnish announcer doesn't say some name correctly like they always do in NA.. regarding that, I wonder who that Tiiimu Selanni is, he's done pretty well, eh?

And Valtteri plays a left wing, because Ilari hasn't been a winger for years.

Interesting to see, what Jokerit power-play will be with Erik Karlsson. Looks like they use only one defenceman on the point (Karlsson) and three forwards to run the play, and Jarkko Ruutu in front of the net as "holmström". If another guy goes to the point during the play, it will be Ilari Filppula.

---------------------Goal
----------------Jarkko Ruutu (screener)
----------------------------------Valtteri Filppula (lefty, main playmaker)
-------Steve Moses
(right-handed shot)
------------------------------------Ilari Filppula (lefty)
------------Erik Karlsson(righty)

Could you argue that Moses could be replaced by Pulkkinen in this PP?

Not really because he's on a line with the Filppulas 5on5 and he's also very good on the PP. Way ahead of Pulkkinen at the moment as well. I think Pulkkinen will be on the 2nd PP-unit for most of the year but if the NHL season continues and Val goes back to Detroit, it might change.

The game is about to end, it started 2 hours ago. Datsyuk with 0+2 so far, game 3-3.

I usually look on LiveTV.ru and Wiziwig.tv. Most of the streams, especially the best quality ones, tend to use Sopcast so you have to download that. You won't find a stream for every game but most of the time there's one. Today I couldn't find one.

Filppula's shootout goal: http://www.mtv3.fi/urheilu/jaakiekko...---katso-video

He scored with the same type of Datsyukian deke last season, was it against Columbus?

Flip only played 22 mins? I thought he was very close or at 30 mins, felt like he was there all the time.

And Brunner got 5 points but was still -? Better be lost of pp points.

Remember arguing that he would play over 20 minutes a night. Seems that balanced approach went out the door when he arrived. Good to see him getting that ice time and doing well with it.

Maybe im just stupid but swiss nla site has him at +3 for the game which makes more sense considering they won 7-2.

Nice set up to Karlsson there by Filppula. Jokerit should be able to rise in the finish leauges standings with players like that.

His icetime is probably increased by the fact that he plays both on the pp and pk. Normally Jokerit don't have many forwards doing that. Also one of the best penalty killers on the team, Riku Hahl is still out with a groin injury but should return soon.

This is true. They seem to change stats even long after the game has ended. Sorry about that.

Thanks for doing these in addition to the prospect stats! It would be cool if you could do a Detroit player thread and we could get that posted to the top of the board.

Man, you aren't kidding. Fil and Karlsson together would be a hell of a lot of fun to watch!

It was that yesterday and I think it will be. Flip could find him pretty well from the point.

With their skating ability, they could do some serious damage. Especially when neither of them was playing at 100% yesterday or even close. Well, it's FEL so they may not do it at all during the season but I'm still excited. Will be fantastic to see those two live for at least month.

Mursak had 3 assists tonight. Tatar & Kindl no points.

I found the highlights from Brunner's 1+4 point game. The goal was a penalty shot. Here you go(#96 in blue): http://www.bluewin.ch/de/index.php/1...=129642&page=1

What a beauty! I would love to see Karlsson on the Wings, but it will never happen.
