Ryan or Stastny?

Has anyone switch from a coffey pattern to either a Ryan or Stastny? My one piece snapped around the heel from the pressure that I was putting on my wrister. I have a heavy and accurate wrister with the coffey pattern. Would I lose either accuracy or velocity with this pattern change?

Personal preference and technique, it's up to you to adjust.

I used to use a big mid curve a couple years ago (like the Coffey) and switched over to Sakic curves. I had a heavy shot with okay accuracy and a lagged release before but after tweaking my shot it's got more speed, accuracy, and a quicker release. I take more of a short snap shot now rather than a big sweeping wrist shot.

Exactly what I'm talking about "lagged" release. I'm trying to eliminate that lag release without losing that accuracy and velocity.

Check out the Plekanec as well. Very nice curve. It's open but not too much so might be easier to adjust to at first after using a closed mid curve.

Sherwood really needs to get a Sakic/Iginla type curve. I got a Coffee curve on my N12 because the Ryan doesn't have enough curve for me and the Stastny has a 6 lie which results in the toe of the blade being off the ice in most cases for me. The Coffee curve is a bit too big for my liking but was the best I could find.

FYI, picked up the white Sherwood Nexus 8 and used it. After making a little adjustments to my shot/release(nothing really major) the adjustment period for a this blade pattern switch (pp77 to the pp26) might only take two maybe three skates.

funny you feel the stastny curve is too upright for you. i've never used the original sakic, but have used it's clone (bauer's p92 and warrior's draper/kopitar) curves extensively and felt the stastny felt a touch flatter in lie to me than the other 2 clones even though it's listed at 6.
