plan is up and want to update my phone:

any one have any experience with the HTC ONE X? I do want to finally join the smartphone world. I use t-mobile so I can't use iphones and its cheaper than the galaxy SIII (and smaller too).

I have noticed some artists are moving away from this trend which is awesome. But most pop/rock/rap will sound like crap anyway as it's made for computer and TV speakers.
A couple of years ago I re-ripped my Mp3 collection using lame in vbr hiqh quality mode, and then used a noramlizer to take the album volume of everything down to 89db, to compensate for the damned overcompression they do on CDs. Made everything a lot more listenable, and it particularly improved the random function of any music player as now I dont have to change the damned volume every time it changes tracks.

I can't really get into the technical jargon like you guys but I think The Loudness War is a major problem.

Yeah when they are trying to smash everything into 6 decibels and you're only using a couple of the 16 bits...

The South Park roasting Family Guy was outstanding.

Also, broke my hockey stick tonight. Going to go on a CC spree tomorrow.

Anyone ever had some dude persistently text their girlfriend/significant other?

This guy texts my girlfriend probably once every two or three weeks and asks to hang out. He just doesn't get the message. I've told him off once on July 4th when he kept calling her over and over until I finally answered, but since then I've just backed off.

I'm not worried about my girlfriend doing anything, and she doesn't like him at all so it's not that, it is just extremely annoying and bothers her a bit that he creeps her out so much. Any advice, fellas?

1. Have her block his number so he can't contact her.

2. Challenge to a duel

3. Tell his mother

4. Steal his phone and prank call 911 constantly until he gets arrested

5. Have her kick him in the nuts.

6. Let him walk in on you guys doing it.

7. Let me visit

8. His house

9. With my guns

10. Mr. Left and Mr. Right

Once American Dad changed its opening is when it overtook Family guy, IMO.

Still tries to get a foot in the door with her AFTER you told him off? Yikes. Have her do it if she hasn't already. Being nice the first time is optional. If he doesn't fall back, she can be as rude and mean as she wants. Sure, it has a chance to backfire and the creep gets creepier, but that's when other options can be explored.

Just blocking the number is probably the easiest and least confrontational method unless he frequently sees her in person.

Sounds like he's trying to get more than just a foot in the door.

As long as your girlfriend ignores him, he'll eventually get the message.

Since you guys are so good with creating OT titles, here's a challenge for ya. I adopted a 1-year old kitty this past Friday. Actually, it was a stray that we took down to the Humane Society a week ago, but then I changed my mind and officially adopted him back. He's a black, short-haired kitty without a tail. The Humane Society had named him Moose, which is funny considering that I have another black cat named, Bear.

But I'm not crazy about Moose. I was trying to think about something hockey-related and loved the name, Bauer. But I'm not sure if it'll confuse Bear since both names sound somewhat similar. Anyone have some suggestions related to hockey or even the lockout (since that's when I got him.)

I kinda like Breezer and Easton too, but not sold on them. Or should I just stick with Bauer? You guys are creative...whatch got?
