I remember watching video clips from him either before or just after we drafted him, and the thing that stood out to me was that he was man strong at 18. We could use guys like that when we have to deal with beasts like Landeskog on opposing teams.
I know a few scouting reports are suggesting that he will be in the nhl with in 3 season full time

Landeskog is a beast? The kid's like 6'1". I mean, yeah, he's a fitness freak, but do the Oilers even have a defenseman smaller than Landeskog? But I get your point, more size and muscle is good. If Musil becomes another Smid, I'll be over the moon. Really excited about the future of the Oilers D, which is a statement I don't think I've ever made in 30 years of watching this team.
For those who have seen Musil this year, how is his skating? Improved? Greatly improved? The same?
I can't comment on how much he has improved because I had very limited viewings last year (and none were live) but he doesn't have a very quick first step. Once he's moving he is quite agile though and I consider him a fairly good skater

I've heard his skating was an area of weakness but never seen him play myself. Sounds like the reports were exaggerated. Thanks for the update
What the hell, he looks like he is full blown bald.
He had a lot of balding going on before his draft year, maybe he just shaves his head now? Either way I wouldn't mind adding a guy with that kind of power to our top 9, hairdo or lack thereof

I liked the kid going into the draft. Had dedication.
You have to think that the guys would pay Jonesy to shave his head and donate it to McNeil if he was on our team.
Well I originally decided not to go to the game tonight, but it is the only time Medicine Hat was in town so I ended up changing my mind so I could go see Shinkaruk. Musil was tasked with shutting him down and my god did he do it well. This was easily Musil's best game so far. Any time Shinkaruk touched the puck, before he could even think to do anything, Musil had taken the puck away or knocked Shinkaruk off of it. Shinkaruk's talent was very obvious, but he simply wasn't shifty enough, strong enough, or smart enough to shake off Musil. And Musil even picked up 2 points to boot (one by shooting the puck off Sieben's chest and in)
Miles Koules had a great all around game tonight for Medicine Hat. He was one of the few guys that stepped up to fill in for Shinkaruk and really drove their offense.
For those interested in ex Oil King Tristen Sieben, he had a great game (along with about half the team since it was 6-1) and was first star. For a small guy, he sure can hit and absolutely demolished one of the Tigers (can't remember who exactly) to go along with a goal and an assist.
Also, Fuhr better have secured the starting job now. He's clearly better than Liston and, if he can keep up this level of play, he could make whoever drafts him quite happy
Well, despite all the terribly officiated games that happened last year, I just witnessed a new low at the Giants/Thunderbirds game. For example, at one point, Morrison went for a hipcheck, and the Thunderbirds player jumped around him without the slightest bit of contact... Tripping. Anyone know anything about the 2 refs? It was Mike Campbell and John Ingram. They let the game get so out of hand it was ridiculous.
On a positive note, Musil had another solid game and scored again. He did take a dumb penalty though for roughing during a scrum (one of the rare times he gets angry)
Cain Franson (Cody's little brother) continued lighting up opponents with 2 more goals tonight, and might be worth a look as an overager in next year's draft (along with Nathan Burns). Also, Brendan Rouse came out of nowhere with an absolutely dominating performance tonight for Seattle with a 3 goal game.
