So there's potentially 2 1-game playoffs this year

I like this change. I always thought it was a pretty raw deal to have your season come down to a tiebreaker.
I agree, very good change.

I think the NHL should do the same if there's a tie between the 8 and 9 seed. If it's a tie that determines seeding, then it should just be a tiebreaker, because whether you're the 6 or 7 seed isn't much of a difference compared to coming in as the 8th seed versus being out.

Why waste one of your better pitchers for an AAA lineup?

Girardi is one of the dumbest managers.

Why is Teixeira, who has missed basically a month, batting ahead of Cano who is hot?
I don't care if he was 0-10 coming in the game against Lester. When you're hot you can hit anyone.

Cano batting 5th is the difference in the game right now.

Excluding his first season, Teixeira has been garbage as a Yankee. He was essentially a .300 hitter everywhere else. What the hell happened?

How many guys can the Yanks leave on Base tonight?

Nice job by Phelps tonight, and this year, just under 100 innings with a 3.34 ERA.

It's either home run or bust, disgusting. Everyone touches up Lester and the Yankees make him look like Randy Johnson

With a win tomorrow, the New York Yankees, yes those Yankees, will somehow, some way, walk into the playoffs as the #1 seed in the AL

Left 9.

12 is the AL record (David Ortiz and Trot Nixon).

just think what their record would be now if they hit better with runners in scoring position and if they were healthy the whole year.

Hopefully Cano stays hot starting Sunday.

Congrats to the Yanks on the best record in the American League!

Can't believe they may actually start in Texas, who would have thought Texas would be the Wild Card team?

Chavez drenching Meredith Marakovits was funny.

well they definetly earned the title of al east champions. now the real season begins. i have a feeling they will face texas on sunday considering texas is at home and im sure that they are angry that they just got swept by the a's and lost the division in the process.
