That has to be at least a top 3 all time

Still think the Stojanov is worst cause they received nothing in return

For the third one I'd probably go with:
Roberto Luongo and Olli Jokinen for Mark Parrish and Oleg Kvasha

How wasnt it a good trade in the end? The Flyers were one of the worst teams in the league without any signs of them getting better before they got him. Ya, they gave up a lot, but Lindros single handedly turned that franchise around. Lindros was arguably the best player in the world for a few years and you'll never see a player with his size and skill in the NHL for a long, long time.

I know he didn't end up bringing a Cup to Philly, but he was the sole reason Philly became a hockey city again (and still are)

I have 2 very bad in mind, maybe not the worst in history, but at least for and against my team.

Patrick Roy + Mike Keane for Thibault, Rucinsky and Kovalenko.

Ron Arnason and Chuck Lefley for Golden Seals' first pick who became Guy Lafleur.

I wouldn't put the Lindros trade only because if it were not for his concussions, he would have been an all-time hall of famer based on his career progression. He was everything he was hyped to be and more. He was a giant dominating physical presence that had the touch to put up 40G+

He is well over a PPG player (and that includes the subpar seasons later in his career that brought his numbers down slightly, but for the Flyers he had 659 points in 486 games, or 1.35 PPG. Just as a comp Sidney Crosby has 609 points in 434 games, or a 1.40 PPG

Most of the Sather fire sales in the early 90s were laughably bad.

I was thinking purely in terms of on-ice value but you certainly have a point as well.

Honestly, not even close compared to some other examples mentioned in this thread.

No one has mentioned Jaromir Jagr and František Kučera for Kris Beech, Michal Sivek and Ross Lupaschuk?

This is the one that sprung to mind for me...

Of course, there are lots of Leaf trades that might make the top 10 list...

Rask for Raycroft

Larry Murphy for NOTHING

Courtnall for Kordic

In the Leafs favour there is the Gilmour trade...

But that was for different reasons than just a hockey trade. That's why this thread is tough because some of the one-sided deals were because they were forced.

How about 1991? The deal, in my opinion, that got the Pens a Stanley Cup.

Hartford trades Ron Francis, Ulf Samuelsson and Grant Jennings to the Pittsburgh Penguins for John Cullen, Zarley Zalapski and Jeff Parker.

Granted, at the time, John Cullen was a hell of a player. But going back and looking at that trade makes me see how one-sided it is.

Mark Messier for Louie DeBrusk, Bernie Nicholls, and Steven Rice. Also in that deal was future considerations which turned into David Shaw for Jeff Beukeboom.

As a Habs fan, the Roy trade and the McDonagh trade hurt, a lot!

Let's go back to 1971 where le Démon blond is the first pick overall, but Montreal isn't likely to get him, so Sam Pollock trades for the California Golden Seals' first round pick and FranÇois Lacombe for their own first rounder and Ernie Hicke. For "pick insurance", Pollock traded Ralph Backstrom to the Kings, ensuring they would not finish last overall and thus Lafleur would become a household name in the NHL.

Such a ****** move, but so, so nice.

Just looking at Buffalo, they have had a couple pretty lopsided deals go their way....

Mike Wilson to FLA

Rhett Warrener & Ryan Miller (5th RND) to BUF

------------------------------------------

Steph Beauregard & 4th RND pick (Daze) to CHI

Dominik Hasek to BUF

I dont know that's pretty one sided. Not only do the Rangers end up with the best player they give away a dead weight anchor of a contract and a lot of crap. Most of these other deals you can at least see that the team was getting something, that deal the Habs were both giving up talent and taking on negative value.
