Phillip Danault with another strong night for Victoriaville; 1 goal, 2 assists. He now has 7 goals and 5 assists in 6 games for 12 points. Brandon Whitney was playing well (19/20 saves) but was replaced mid-way through the third period. Not sure why, perhaps someone can translate this tweet:

All that says is Decelles replaces Whitney in front of the net for the Tigers.

Yeah, there doesn't seem to be too many people interested in reporting the events of Victoriaville games on Twitter.

I don't see why not?

Looks like Whitney got an assist, I wonder how he is at handling the puck.

I am hoping he was replaced because he played every game so far and they were up 5-1 or something.

An injury would be sucky considering how well he has been playing. Looks like we got a great goalie talent and we didn't have to waste a 1st or 2nd on one.

Great to see Danault's offense coming around now that he needs to be that kind of player for his team. Now only if our #18 overall picks the past 2 years could start producing.

Also what is wrong with Dillon Fournier? I am assuming injured, but what is the injury?

Or about the QMJHL in general. I searched google for like 30 minutes last week, desperately trying to find out why Dillon Fournier wasn't playing and I couldn't find one thing. I searched good with "1 week or less" so it was only recent Dillon Fournier news/notes/anything and still couldn't find anything. So then I followed a bunch of Rouyn-Noranda twitter accounts and went through a bunch of crap and still nothing. Even after game 2 I couldn't find anything.

Too lazy to look now, but hopefully one of you two know?

edit- I did look and found it posted on their facebook account... I guess a shoulder injury from last year...

I'm a bit surprised by Danault's goal production. I expected him to be at least a PpG, but he could score 35+ goals if he keeps this production up. Considering his career high is 23 and only scored 18 last year, that'd be a big jump, even in his final Junior season.

Not too sure on Fouriner. If it's the same injury he had during Hawks Prospect camp, it could be his ankle/foot.

Listening to a PA Raiders game. Mark McNeill just scored his first of the season. Assuming the PA Raiders play-by-play guys aren't biased (and why would they be?) it was a wicked shot... now McNeill takes a penalty and the announcers are dumbfounded.

Good news, Whitney isn't hurt. He was replaced mid-period by the back-up, but wasn't hurt. Don't know why he was replaced, but it could just be for rest as Victoriaville played tonight and plays again on the 4th and 5th.

From the Victoriaville game-story:

Quote:
Mid-way through the period, Yanick Jean surprised by replacing Brandon Whitney by William Decelles front cage Tigers. Upon its debut, Decelles was tested by the adversary. He passed the test.

Mark McNeill scores 2 goals, 1 assist, and adds 9 PIMs(1 fight)

Plus gets the game winning shootout goal.

Now that is more like it.

We need McNeil to pan out as a 2c not Teuvo. I want a poor mans Getzlaf beast rather than a Gagner!

Saad-Toews-Kane
Sharp-McNeil-Hossa

Kruger doesn't bring enough nastiness to the fourth line. I think our centers down the middle will eventually be something like:

Toews
Pirri
Danault
McNeill

Not sure if Bolland stays for the long term, with injury or replacement moving him out. Only problem might be the light winger (Kane or Teravainen) who ends up playing with Pirri considering the defensive side. Depends on how serious Pirri is about improving his defensive play. This year will be interesting. However, there's no way Kruger has enough offfensive ability to hold down the 2C. McNeill also hasn't shown enough offensively for role, though "big guys take longer to develop", so one never knows...

Good for Decelles. Not everyone passes the test given by the adversary.

Danault plays the wing as much as he plays center. Keep Bolland, and use Danault as a winger. #2 center will be a battle between Pirri, McNeill and TT in a few years.

McNeil is a physical specimen. Him and Beach would add a lovely amount of tenacity to this push over roster and lack of bottom 6 toughness. I know Beach doesn't always fair well in fights but at least he is willing.

Stalberg-Toews-Kane
Saad-Sharp-Hossa
Beach-Bolland-McNeil
Shaw-Danault-Flick/UFA

Jokerit in the Finnish Elite League are hopeful legend Teemu Selanne joins the club soon #Ducks #NHL

I wasn't going to watch a Jokerit game for Teuvo alone, but if Teemu is there, I think I'd have a hard time saying no.

@goicehogs
Alec Richards is expected to start between the pipes for the #IceHogs tonight

That's a surprise.

Sink or swim time for Richards. My bet's on the former.

The Goalie Guild seems to think that Richards will have the back-up position for the Hogs, not sure I agree with that, but it should be a healthy competition.

Brandon Saad was lining up at wing during a scrimmage yesterday (BHTV Shaw Mic'd-up). Saad is simply not a centre. They can try him there, it's not going to work, he's a winger.
