Hate to ruin the good video combo, but I wanted to respond to this

There's nothing "bro" about lifting weights. Everybody has different goals. If you are happy doing plyo and whatever else then that's great. "Looking good" is extremely subjective. You may think you look 100x better and others may think you look small or weak. It's just about what you enjoy doing and what will keep you active. I enjoy lifting heavy but that doesn't make me "bro". There are a ton of different ways to be fit. Being "bro" is an attitude, not a method of lifting.

So, I finally seemed to be getting over my cough and decided to push myself as far as I could go last night. 9 miles in an hour and I have no idea how I made it home, as my legs were reduced to jello and my brain was on autopilot.

Took a good while to get out of bed this morning, but I feel great.

Well done, well done indeed... Dying to get out for a run, but my knee has been ON FIRE the last 5-6 days. Ugh...

Well, last August (2011) I separated my shoulder setting a PR for dumbell press. For the first time today since then I picked up that same weight and did more reps than what I separated my shoulder with. Feels really good to finally get that off my back. I've been able to do it for a while but I was just super psyched out.

I also set a new PR for tricep extensions (If that is what you call them. Holding the dumbbell above your head with both hands, and lowering it behind your head) so all in all it was a pretty good day. And, my shoulder isn't even acting up all that much which is fantastic.

I can run 1.5 miles (2.4km) in 9:40...

That beat my target time for the Army by 4:20. Result.

Ran last night without a knee brace for the first time since last November. Only did a mile, but it felt great.

Amazing run today. I went out feeling obligation to do it rather than want or desire, I felt slow as I was doing it... and I beat my best time for a mile (even though I didn't run faster on the last stretch) and still felt fresh enough at the end to do more. Great feeling.

The weather right now is absolutely perfect to run outside... the leaves turning make it even more enjoyable to go for a run.

Hey guys, just started working out like a month or two ago, got a gym membership and everything. I was around the border of average and overweight but I've been noticing a difference recently. Still can't last very long on the treadmill or elliptical, or lift very much weight. I am 18 years old for reference. Any tips for a newbie?
