You were about the only player I could beat--at least among those still left in the league.

Actually, I'm pretty sure the only people I've beaten other than you have quit.

Probably doesn't bode well.

Or just give him San Jose

: oilers 2 : 1 OT

I took a stupid interference penalty in OT that cost me, which sucks cause I controlled a lot of the play. Dubnyk played unreal, stopped a good few breakaways. Lost Eriksson for 8 games too. GG anyway Pale.

I don't know if it's just bad luck or if my shooting is bad, but that's 3 straight games of getting owned by goalies for me.

I'll let you know when I kick the guy out, you'll have to send a join request. I can't invite people (or I haven't figured it out yet)

It isn't a matter of being stubborn--or at least is isn't for me. That's a pretty snotty way of looking at it.

Some of us old-timers aren't so adept with two sticks, four triggers, and four buttons. I was raised in a less glamorous world of video game playing...lol. The more they require the simultaneous use of all the controls, the less relevant I become. I can see what I want to do, but just can't do it.

Thus my... what... 4 - 26 - 4 record in league play since the first week? I was pretty good...when no one else knew how to play. Since then... all down hill.

To be fair, I wouldn't quit in the middle of a game, unless the other player was glitching while up 3-0, and I don't blame Oilers for being pissed.

But it can be frustrating, and it isn't just a matter of "learning." The more I play, the worse I get.

In some respects, too, the way people are trying--but failing to play--e.g., passing the puck across the ice hard--is far more realistic than what actually "works." Perhaps it was too easy in NHL 10-12, but it's too difficult now. John Tavares really shouldn't flub ever one-timer he gets, even if its a hard pass. And since when do people turn around and skate backward into the offensive zone...and have it be an effective strategy. Since when does backing toward the goal make it more likely that the subsequent shot will be accurate, etc.

In other words, there are two separate issues:

1) Some of us just aren't very skilled. (Though I think probably few are ready to admit it. )

2) Some of us don't like to exploit the game's stupidity--even if it means we're going to be worse.

I like the skating engine in NHL 13. I like the looser pucks. I don't like the passing, the uber-poke check, or the new vision control.

Where does the waiting list stand right now? I had submitted another user for it a few days ago, he's chomping at the bit to get in our little league.

Yeah it's not just about learning a new game, some of it is, but something about this game is just extra frustrating this year. I dont if they made the EA momentum stronger or what. I've played too many games lately where I really feel like I deserved to win, but nothing I shoot goes in no matter how glorious a chance.

1) Stop editing your post...

2) I'll admit to number one. I may be the worst defensive player in the league.

In theory, its the same thing that makes you skate backwards.

In practice, it doesn't seem to do anything this year. Last year, it increased the accuracy of your passes and shot--you'd have a chance at getting a puck through a guy with a pass.

This year, it just makes you skate backwards with the puck... which is... well... odd, most of the time--though now it seems people have learned to use it to shield the puck, I guess because you lose less speed than the "a" button?
