Hi Jackets fans. I was wondering what you think is going to happen to York. My Uncle used to cover him when he played bantam in Alberta (See above) so I was curious if you think he has a future with you guys. Thanks.

Due to his two way NHL/AHL contract, he was assigned to Springfield before the lockout. I would presume he'll start or backup Curtis McElhinney. There is a slight possibility he could be sent to the Evansville Icemen. I will add that I was pretty impressed with his play when he started in Columbus at the end of last season. I personally attended his win against Detroit (unfortunately, the only win from all six games I attended.)

York is currently injured, so odds are he starts the season in the ECHL once he's healthy.

I just read on the Falcons facebook page he was injured yesterday. Any idea what happened?

As far as landing with the Icemen, you're guess is as good as mine. I know this...they only have two Single-A goalies on the roster now; however, they can also get send-downs from the Peoria Rivermen who have three of their own goaltenders in camp right now.
