It seems that they're not even used the most either. Vladi isn't getting much PP time today.

Can't watch the game. What's the score and how's Vlad doing?

2-2 with goals by Kovalchuck, Tarasenko, and Yakupov (2) in the 3rd period. He's had some chances, but nothing too special really. Kovy is having an off game and that line is being used as the 2nd line.

Yakupov just took a penalty with just 5 minutes left.

Now SKA goes down a man with a minute left...Penalties are killing this team.

In addition to my man-crush for Tarasenko, I'm an Edmonton fan. How has Yakupov looked, you know, aside from the fact he scored two?

Not bad. His first goal was nothing special, and I didn't get to see the second. SKA has dominated the possession game, but they take stupid penalties (Semenov, I'm looking at you) and they haven't been able to capitalize on their own power plays...Including a long 5 on 3. It's hard to get a read on Yakupov when his team is that much worse.

Tarasenko and Yakupov both shoot on their attempts and are stoned cold.

Kovalchuck flies into the zone and rips it for the lead...Fedorov misses with the chance to win. Sudden death.

Yak goes five hole...SKA just had to keep sending Kovy. Fedorov surprisingly goes roof job to keep it going.

Yak scores five hole again and...Game. SKA had every chance to win the entire game and just let it slip away.

My personality read on Tarasenko is he's a kid who plays with his heart on his sleeve (hence the Armstrong comparisons to Oshie on that subject). He's humble and team-oriented, but willing to stand on principle, so I suspect if he were ever made a fan whipping boy he'd take it very personally (and likely want out). However, Blues fans will probably love his spirit and embrace him the same way they've embraced Oshie for his attitude. Tarasenko would be wise to show public St. Louis pride, because that works every time in getting St. Louis fans on your side.*

*rhyme unintentional

He has fan favorite written all over him. I think the fans will love his enthusiasm the most. When he scores, he looks like it's his first goal as a 6 year old. There's no doubt he loves the game. I think fans appreciate that.

Got some cheap flights to Prague for this weekend, so hoping I'll be able to pick up a ticket for the SKA game at the o2 on Saturday
