Well this has to be the wrong thread unless going to Europe makes players a prospect again, but I took a look and anyone notice who is leading that team in points?

I'm all for a Overseas thread just for roster players.

Hemsky, Petrell, Smid, (am i missing anyone) , and eventually Gagner and Hall?
Hell, if anything it'll be a good place to keep track of rumors pertaining to Oilers playing in Europe and maybe even some discussion on non-Oiler NHLers in Europe.

Hall will be going to OKC.

Sounds almost certain that he will, but he's not in any rush (based on his and Eberles recent comments).

If I was Hall I would take my time as he will get paid a lot more money recovering here in EDM. Even it is just for one month.

lol at Musil outscoring Moroz so far. What kind of odds would you give that that holds true for the remainder of the season?

Wouldn't be too far fetched especially given the role Moroz is in.

1/2: @TSNRyanRishaug: RT @dchesnokov: Yakupov today vs. SKA: 2 goals (both game tying) and the game winning penalty shot. That's after being a healthy scratch.

Pretty high given his role. He's the #1 dman and logs big minutes, including on the top PP unit. I can see him maintaining his PPG pace

It is nice to see Musil put up some points. This will be a very nice developing year for him. Next year he will be in the AHL. I don't care what people have been saying about him, I think he will be a very nice addition to our defense. The kid has size, plays a very good defensive game and have a good 1st pass.

Yak is getting use to the faster game. Nice to see. I hope he tears up the KHL. Playing in the KHL is good for him as it will allow him to transition to the game and by the time he comes to the NHL he will be use to the faster game. Go Yak.

Anyone know why Hemsky has only played 4 games in Pardubice?

I don't see any way that Musil maintains a PPG pace throughout the season in the WHL.
That's pretty difficult to do even for offensive defensemen in that league.

I'd agree, but I don't see Moroz getting much more than 30 points on the 3rd/4th line.

I didn't realize that he was on their top PP unit. Good for him, hopefully that will help him down the road.

It mostly has to do with the Giants lack of offensive dmen. They have a couple quality shutdown guys in Orban and Vannieuwenhuizen, but that's about it. They have Kulak, but he's certainly not very talented as far as offensive defensemen go. Therefore, Musil is the go to guy. If he was on a different team, his production would probably be just over half of what it will be on the Giants because the play wouldn't have to go through him. He can likely end the year in the 60 point range IMO

Does anyone know where Pelss will be playing this year. Is he still in the WHL or AHL. Does he have a shot at making OKC Barons?

Chance at 4th line on the Barons right now, but the lockout is really hurting him. Looks like Stockton for now.
I think the Oil Kings could use him, but then he'd also potentially be taking ice time from Moroz.

The best part about Musil is that nobody really expects him to be an offensive dynamo in the NHL. If he becomes a low event 2-3rd pairing defensive d-man who can PK and play a regular shift against the top competition (poor man's Smid/Z.Michalek), it will be a major success. If he can provide 20-25 points on top of that--the Oilers are laughing.
IMHO, Musil right now is our 3rd best D prospect behind Schulz and Klefbom only. Marincin and Gernat may have higher upside, but are also much less likely to reach their potential.

I agree with this, Marincin has to put some size on or he will never be heavy enough in the NHL. Musil's first year in the CHL, teams expected more offense from him after that. He could have untapped offensive potential. He was always good with the first pass. Got to love his size also.

With his 3rd assist, Klefbom has broken his point total from last year already. And a +/- that's tied for 1st in the league.
