How's Vikstrand's defensive game? Hard for me to follow him from NA, but from what I saw of the highlights on Mora IK's website, he's got good offensive instincts and likes to shoot the puck. Didn't appear to be at fault on any of DIF's goals.

I'm going to be making an effort to follow him this season, so I'll probably make appearances in this thread from time to time.

always been cheering for him so nice to see Victor Backman getting 7pts in the first 4 games!

was anyone able to watch his games? any significant improvement in his skating?

Caught the highlights of the VIK-Mora game, and looking at the game sheet on stats.swehockey.se, I can't for the life of me figure out why Wikstrand was credited with an assist on Ericsson's empty net goal. To me, it looks like Kopitar wins the draw forward to a streaking Ericsson. Is the game log accurate, did he get credited wrongly, or am I blind?

That was indeed weird, he was officially credited with the point. I noticed some mistakes in the scoresheet last year when they did not give anyone credit for the secondary assist even though they should, this was the complete opposite. Not sure why they don't fix things like this after the game, they do have video of the game available.

Elitserien is basically a decade ahead of Allsvenskan when it comes to scorekeeping.

Johan Ryno is such a mystery. He looks amazing every time I watch a Leksand game, like a man among boys. He probably leads all their forwards in ice time aswell. Yet he's only put up 4 points(three of them came in the first game) and is -7.

On another note, Forsberg looks amazing and it's nice to see Åberg scoring again.

Forsberg really should be playing on the first line and first PP. He's their best, most effective, forward. Their first line looks good, but they're not driving the net and could use a goalscorer.

It doesn't sound very alarming when he says "The A-team is protected". It sounds more like "boo hoo we can't have close to an Elitserien budget in Allsvenskan". Welcome to the club!

Åberg is playing with a lot more confidence as of late. He should be a productive player in this league and he's starting to show it. 13 shots in 9 games coming into tonight is not okay for a sniper like him.

Ryno has a pretty weak shot from what I've seen. Other than that I agree he have looked great.

They simply have to slim thier player budget. That goes for every team in economic trouble. Dont overpay your players.

Timander and Prestberg are probably overpaid a whole lot.

Heja!

some questions from an austrian Blues fan:

so Alex Steen is tearing up the league, can you guys please tell me wich position he plays and who his line-mates are

are there any good streams for the SEL? couldn`t find any so far...

what is the story of Starkbaum? heard he came as back-up but he seems to play pretty often and pretty well....?!?

thanks in advance!

edit: just saw that I texted in the very wrong thread, please excuse me!

The good: de la Rose is playing with Forsberg today.
The bad: Forsberg on the third line.. are they insane?

De La Rose is playing really well, too bad Burakovsky isn't playing.

Landeskog, Wennberg, Åberg

Wennberg has one of the last WJC spots for me right now.
