Kolb's best game came as a result of knowing the Eagles playbook and the win vs New England was a lucky one as a result of a missed field goal. No way the Cardinals at their best will beat a NE team at their best.

"I was told specifically, 'You can't talk enough Tebow,'" said Gottlieb on the Dan Patrick Show. "I would jokingly throw it into a segment. 'I gotta find 15 seconds here to talk about Tebow, all right let's move on and talk about Major League Baseball."

ESPN celebrated Tebow's birthday on-air a few weeks ago.

"Is it ridiculous how much you have to talk about Tebow? Yeah! But for whatever reason people can't get enough of that story, and they kind of stoke the fire—that's kind of what ESPN does."

Gottlieb said that ESPN creates news as much as it reports it.

"They've lost that credibility, a large portion of the credibility of covering news. I think that it's now: ‘What's trending?' Focus groups. You're trying to create things there. Bernie Fine story at Syracuse. Where's that? The New Orleans story with the Saints with Mickey Loomis? Where's that? Where are those stories? Those are big stories that you guys created. You were late on the Joe Paterno story. I think there's just a different mindset from what they're doing and how they're covering it. And they always fall back on ‘Well, Bob Ley covers the serious news stories.' SportsCenter should be covering sports, they should be covering the news. I think they created it with Tebow. And ESPN embarrassed themselves in spending a week out there at Jets camp."

^ I guess Gottlieb left ESPN? I wasn't aware. If he hasn't he will soon.

But ya in the last, I don't know, 5-6? years ESPN has gone from a great sports news/highlight network to an unbearable sports TMZ-like gossip/pop culture one.

Also its pretty much NFL Network 2. That is literally all they talk about, in season or not. Forget hockey, we all know they hate that but even baseball is rarely mentioned unless its Yankees/Red Sox.

It would seem they love the NBA too but not really unless its LeBron and Kobe and Dwight Howard, with maybe some Thunder sprinkled in. And now Howard and Kobe are teammates! motherofgod.jpeg.

ESPNs priority list:
Tebow(Jets)
Rest of NFL
LeBron/Kobe
Yankees/Red Sox
Tiger Woods

.........

Every other sport

.........

Hockey

The sporting landscape has changed and while I prefered the older format in the 90's, it would be obsolete today.

The internet and sports specific channels(MLB, NBA, NFL, NHL) have made that possible.

It's like people complaining about MTV. You either change with the times or get left behind.

The last straw for me was when they 'reported' that Tony Parker was getting divorced. Because that is not TMZ-like, it is TMZ.

The Jets owner also wants Romney to win the election more than he wants his team to have a winning season. I can imagine that is making him very popular in New York.

I found Drew Stanton's comments interesting recently

Said the Jets signed him telling him that if Sanchez struggled he would get shot at #1 job. He basically made it sound like the Jets GM was forced into acquiring Tebow

And that is why no real football fans like you, Tim.

And, really, why does such a bad football player get so much publicity?

Trademark "Tebowing" and get the media and fans talking about you again = Another win for Tebow.

Some of you guys sure do pay a lot of attention to a guy you don't like. The "media is shoving him down our throats" excuse doesn't fly either. I'm not a fan of his and when I see a Tebow link, I don't click on it. When I hear someone talking about him, I just ignore it.

I didn't click on the link. BWC posted all I need to know. It's just sad such a bad player gets talked about so much. Tebow is way beyond ESPN at this point. He's everywhere. Not watching ESPN doesn't fix the problem.

I love how he can trademark a pose. Especially one that numerous players have been doing FOREVER. Getting down on one knee and praying before games or after TDs is nothing new.

I'd rather talk about Christian Ponder's dating life. I mean it is on the front page of yahoo. At least he's somewhat decent and is a starting QB.

Linsey Lohan

The other 90% of those in show business who don't have what many say are a squeeky clean image like Tebow.

Don't be surprise if Twbow is working in tv and movies when his NFl career is done because that is how so many people love Tebow at this point. All he has to do is stay clean and he'll never have to struggle to make money for the rest of his life.

Now the trademaking of Tebowing is just silly but he did say he will donate all profits to his charity if he does make any of Tebowing.
