Dang, I thought Cuse would start a comeback with #6 but looks like Duke can't be stopped.

Love the Duke uniforms though. My old high school should get something like that.

Lets go Orange. I don't want to have to resort to cheering for Hopkins.

And as I hit post they score to bring it within three. Hell yeah

EDIT: ****. Good feed though right off the faceoff. Brought it down on that fast break.

Transition year for the Orange.

Loyola beats Denver in a 10-9 thriller to advance to the final 4. They will play the Norte Dame/Virginia winner. Maryland upsets #2 Hopkins to advance to their 2nd straight final 4, and they will play the winner of Duke and an upstart Colgate squad that shocked undefeated UMASS in round 1.

Really? I feel like it's Duke's to lose. I hope Loyola or even ND takes it, screw the ACC

It will be Duke vs Maryland, and Loyola vs Notre Dame in the final four this weekend.

Hope the winner of the Loyola game wins it all, whoever that may be. **** Duke, **** their conference, **** Maryland too.

Loyola defeats Notre Dame 7-5 and Maryland defeats Duke 16-10.

It will be Loyola vs Maryland for the National Lacrosse Championship on Memorial Day at 1 O' Clock.

Box season has kicked off, the usual suspects look pretty good: Langley, New Westminster in the west, and Peterborough + Brampton in the east.

I hope Loyola wins, I hate ACC colleges in BB and Lax. Plus, Reid Acton (longpole for the Greyhounds) is from Toronto

Ray Lewis is a beast and a fantastic motivational speaker. An all-Maryland showdown.. a bit unexpected tbqh.

The Loyola Greyhounds top Maryland 9-3 to claim the 2012 National Championship, their first in school history. Congratulations.

The Orangeville Northmen win the Minto Cup rather comfortably, as I had expected.
They are the Jr. A BOXLA National Champions for 2012, with the Six Nations Rebels claiming the Founders Cup (Jr. B) over Akwesasne. Congratulations to both teams

On to the Mann Cup, which will pit Langley against Peterborough.

Am I the only one that thinks the CBC should be obliged to air lacrosse games as a part of their Canadian cultural mandate?

I find it insulting that it isn't already, to be honest. I'm pretty sure they used to show rodeo events, they might still, I wouldn't know, don't watch as much TV or CBC specifically as I did ~15 years ago. They show a lot of curling, which is great. Box lacrosse is just as Canadian as those things. I don't have TV Cogeco, so... yes. CBC should air the games.

Agreed. It's not like the Mann and Minto Cups are in prime hockey season.

Langley ready for NLL lacrosse team, business man says:

I'd like to see the NLL back here, but it will be a tough sell with that small an arena (5200).

I'm pretty sure the NLL requires a seating capacity of at least 8000 to be considered an eligible arena. 5200 is just to low anyways selling out every game they will barely break even. And that’s with a favorable arena deal. Maybe abbotsford, even though I think there arena is only like 7000, the league would probably approve a team there because it would be back in the Vancouver area.

Lacrosse used to be the sport of Canada before they relegated it to summer sport of Canada to make way for ice hockey to be the winter sport. If im not mistaken.

The Bellies used to get massive numbers out to their games back in the day 60-70 years ago.

Its quite unfortunate that most people dont give a damn about it and frankly lacrosse doesnt do enough to promote itself and often does things that hurt its reputation.

When i played JrA we were lucky to get 50 fans out to the games. The only teams that really got fans out were Victoria Shamrocks and NW Bellies. Maybe a couple of hundred.

I play Jr. A in Ontario (last year of eligibility coming up), and unfortunately only Orangeville, Six Nations, Whitby and sometimes St. Catharines have packed arenas.
Box lacrosse should be ingrained in our culture, and it's only alive in pockets.. which is frustrating.

I thought last year's team was the worst Syracuse lacrosse team I'd ever seen. A few minutes into the 2013 season, and I stand corrected.

Yeah there are towns that will go out and support a Jr./Sr. team, and some surprising ones that won't. I don't get why lacrosse has never fully caught on. Seems like an easier sport to get into than hockey. Less expensive, too. Never really understood it myself.

Predictions for the NCAA quarter finals?

Duke v. Notre Dame--> Duke edges ND, because their offense has been anemic.

Syracuse v. Yale--> 'Cuse

Cornell v. Ohio State--> Logan Schuss ! Cornell probably takes it though.

Denver v. North Carolina--> Hopefully Denver. Wes Berg is a beast, so are Cam Flint and Jeremy Noble.

I don't understand NCAA rankings. Cornell was 1st overall, loses twice, enters the tournament at #11. Notre Dame is ranked 1st, loses twice, enters the tournament at #2 .

Imo Cornell is a top 3 team in the tournament along with Cuse and UNC. Not surprised at all that they're basting #3 Ohio State 11-3 in the 3rd. This is "number 11" folks
