With guys being sent down to the AHL due to the NHL lockout, it seems that some rosters won't be easy to predict.
Who will be the AHL's big scrappers this year? What scrappers were sent down from an NHL team due to the lockout? Will AHL fighting increase, decrease, or stay about the same as a result of the NHL lockout?
WIth some young star power down there I would expect fighting to increase. Oklahoma City will probably be stacked wit toughness with RNH, Hall, Eberle etc all down there playing.
The usual guys will probably be right near the top of the league in majors. Greg Amadio, not a great fighter but is as active as they come, Nolan Yonkman is huge, Eric Selleck is one of the toughest down there as is pl3.
A good up and coming middleweight is Mitch Callahan for Grand Rapids, hes pretty active and takes on some big guys. Did alright in his fights for a first year pro and has a bit of skill. I think he'll make the wings someday
Yeah, last time I checked, Leblond was a UFA, but I can't imagine him going anywhere else. Here are some other guys that stand out to me:
-Justin Johnson had 23 fighting majors and 187 penalty minutes in 44 games last year.
-Jimmy Bonneau had 22 fighting majors and 168 penalty minutes in 54 games.
-PL3 had 22 fighting majors and 167 penalty minutes in 50 games.
-Andrew Carroll had 20 fighting majors and 138 penalty minutes in 68 games.
The Worcester Sharks were a rough squad with well over 100 fighting majors Curt Gogol, Jimmy Bonneau, Matt Pelech, and Frazer McLaren.
Joel Rechlicz, Brandon Bollig, Francis Lessard, Colton Orr, and Steve MacIntyre are heavyweights, as well.
I can see Callahan making Detroit. He's got some skill to go along with the feistyness. Hopefully Detroit's 4th line will feature Callahan and Jordin Tootoo sooner rather than later.
AHL has signed Zach "Huggy bear" Stortini. Some Hagel guy. They have Ian Schultz from last season who's returning and invite Antoine Corbin as a tryout. Overager in the WHL, but at 6'2 gets in some fights. To a lesser extend there's Tinordi, too.

I wonder if someone can do a team by team list...As a Kings fan I know the Manchester Monarchs will have Jordan Nolan, Rich Clune, and Justin Johnson. Rookie Andre Andreoff had 9 fights last year in the OHL and is a power forward type. Andrew Campbell is good for a few fights too.
Yeah, that's basically what I'm looking for. I've occasionally watched AHL hockey in the past, but I'd like to get into it more this year with the dumbasses in the NHL whining over money.
I have some questions for AHL fans:
-Is Eric Godard set to play in the AHL this season? Last I knew, he was bought out by Dallas.
-Has PL3 signed anywhere yet?
-Is Wade Brookbank still playing? I know he's starting to age.

But not a fighter. Ever since he hurt his knee in the NHL, he doesn't fight often. He prefers to toss a guy around like a ragdoll over punching them. He played in Milwaukee for 4 years, I saw him a lot. Real nice guy off the ice.
Anyone know what's up with Tim Spencer ? He's with Syracuse , is it just a numbers game or is he injured? If it's a numbers game and he's the odd man out , I wonder how long he'll stick with them or will he be re-located in the ECHL?
