Potential Cap Dumps or Amnesty Buy Outs ***From Your Team***

Say the cap is significantly lowered and/or there is an amnesty buy out clause. Which players FROM YOUR FAVORITE TEAM are candidates to either be traded (for very little in a "soft deal") to get below the cap, or bought out completely?

Identify the team you root for, list the players, and say whether you think it will be a soft deal cap dump or a straight amnesty buy out.

Thanks.

Toronto: Lombardi, and maybe Komisarek if the cap drops significantly.

Ricky has got to be the leading candidate in the league for an amnesty buy out - which is why Wang/Snow will do the unthinkable and NOT exercise it on him.

Seriously, the DP era has to come to an end.

They don't need to buy him out. He's always on LTIR.

Montreal - if there is only 1 per team - Bourque and if there is 2 then add Gomez.

This... Wang/Snow aren't going to throw the substantial amount of money required to buy him out, when insurance is paying his salary.

You know who's available, right?

Ballard is the most likely candidate on the Canucks for being traded for scraps.

Amnesty buyout for Ville Leino
Leopold might be a candidate for a soft deal if the cap drops significantly.

He's a distraction, a burden and he downright sucks.

What happens when insurance runs out? It's not known how long it's insured for, but what if it's about to be up? At the time, it was said they had a lot of trouble finding someone to insure it and that was the last info IIRC.

Agreed that chances are it's either one or both of them.

Minnesota:

Has to be Niklas Bäckström. With Harding and Hackett, $6mill for Bäcks is a little steep.

I remember reading that insurance is only willing to insure contracts for 6, or 7 years. If that's the case, NYI would now be paying his salary starting '13-14.
