Theodore to Vancouver

Vancouver will need an experimented goalie to backup Schneider once Luongo will be traded. If they are going for the cup, a Theodore-Schneider duo inspire more confidence than Schneider-Lack. I assume Theodore would waive his NTC for a shoot to win the cup before he become UFA. Theodore could be one of the only option for Vancouver to acquire a good, avaible, experimented, upcoming UFA goalie.

Florida can afford to lose Theodore to allow Markstrom to have at last a shoot as a #01, i assume this is a mid season/deadline trade and Markstrom showed he can do the job.

To Florida: Alberts and a 2nd.
To Vancouver: Theodore

Note: If you think this trade make no sense because Vancouver are deep in goal and we should wait until Luongo is traded before making this kind of proposal or at least include Luongo in the deal, i kinda agree. But how is it different than all the Luongo to Florida proposal not including a goalie back ?

This deal makes no sense with Luongo still around. This deal could only happen if Luongo was to get moved out first.

If Luongo is traded it would be an interesting deal for the Canucks.

No reason the Panthers make this trade though.

Really depends if Tallon believes Markstrom is ready to take #1 now. Or if he will need more time. Also what about Clemmie? Would Vancouver fans consider Clemmie backing up Schneider? Same trade but with Clemmenson instead.

But we have no reason to think Vancouver would not be able to move Luongo, they already got some solid offer, according to Gillis.

Like I said, if Luongo gets moved, this is a very interesting idea; something to consider.

But again it doesn't make sense for the Panthers.

Well OP did say when Lou is moved. Also maybe not Alberts, but it does make sense for Florida to move a goalie if Markstrom is ready. Would think they would rather move Clemmenson though.

I understand the principle... but we don't need "If/then" fantasy trades. If we get to a point where Lu is actually traded, this might be a good piece to start with.

That being said - let's get our CBA first, and maybe a Lu trade second. Then we can revisit this.
