Giroux maybe looking at playing with Jagr's team or a KHL team. If he joined Jagr's team and the there is no NHL season.. it could be a lot of fun watching Kladno destroy everyone in their path to the championship with Giroux on the team. OMG

Kladno? This would be aboslutely fantastic... If i weren't going to the USA for the whole first half of 2013
Edit: Just to add something to the Kladno rumor: http://www.sport.cz/hokej/extraliga/...gr.html#hp-sez
This czech article pretty much sums up everything what has been already said about G going to KHL/Extraliga: Jagr advised G to go to the KHL (in Jagrs words "he would get tons of money there"), G doesn't want to go to the KHL/Omsk alone and he's waiting for some Canadian player to confirm he'd go with G. But if I remember correctly, Omsk doesn't have space for more than one foreigner which would mean G wouldn't go to the KHL. And there goes the important part - Jagr said that he believes that in case G doesn't go to the KHL, he'll go to Kladno. Money aparently is no problem for G - he knows Kladno can't afford paying him and he doesn't mind at all.
And one more fact I haven't heard before this interview: Although G's insurance semt to be insanely high (Jagr's words), some unique company offered that every player who pays his insurance himself would get 40 percent discount. This could pretty much solve the only problem (money) Kladno would have with signing G.

How real is the possibility of Giroux coming to play with you in Kladno? Very real. It's only about the way he will decide. He will play either in Omsk or Kladno as far as I know. He knows that he can come, practice and play here (Kladno) anytime he wants.
You have played for both Kladno and Omsk. Does Giroux consult his next employer with you? We're talking to each other pretty often and he knows that I've been to Omsk and that I liked it there. They're enormously interested in getting him but there's a big problem - there's no Canadian playing for Omsk. None is either in Kladno - but at least I am here.
In case of certain players, insurance has been a pretty big issue. Does this count also for Giroux?
[I]Not so much. A while ago I've talked to an insurance company - and they said that if a player pays his own insurance, such player would get a discount. Such discount could be even 40 percent because he has no 10yr long contract. His contract is only for 2 yrs and therefore his insurance would be much less expensive as opposed to Tomas Kaberle.
What time horizont are we talking about? As far as I know, he can come over to Europe on wednesday. He might either go to Omsk as I recommended to him because he can make a lot of money there - we can't give him anything. But he's highly aware of that. The other option is he would come here (Kladno), obesrving how will the lockout situation continue. And if the lockout really lasts longer, he might go somewhere else anytime he wants.
This could be a case of everyone else - e.g. about Jirka Tlusty, the fans are speculating about him leaving because his insurance has been paid for one month only... That's another problem. Jirka (nickname Tlusťoch - fatty) is doing a spectacular job and we've made an agreement that in case he gets some good offer he might leave. He's one of those young guys who haven't made so much money so ... the agreement seems pretty clear.
But what about the roster? Where would Giroux fit, Kladno's already stacked. No problem. I would go to defense, Židla (Zidlicky) would take care of it all. (laughing)
Are there any other options from NHL you're looking at? No, it's just about G. Right now we have very quality roster for being succesful. If we'll keep playing well, we might also keep winning. On the other hand, Giroux isn't some random average player. He's in the TOP3 in the world. And if there's a chance to get him playing in our league, why not taking it?
The rest of the interview is in the regional newspaper "Kladensky denik" to which I have no acces.

Reason: Other questions added - interview has been updated
Simmonds had 3 assists in a 4-1 win for Crimmitschau today. Nearly impossible to separate from the puck and working his ass off every shift. If he had better linemates and more shot luck he easily could have double the 4 points he has after 3 games. But at least he seems to have tons of fun out there.
Given the most recent news, it would be kind of a surprise - but not so much for me. IIRC Omsk has space for only one foreigner (but G doesn't want to go to Russia all by himself) and Kladno... Well, maybe he just doesn't want to destroy the first line because one of the NHLers would have to go to the second line (probably Plekanec? Him and G are both centers and I don't know about LW experience/abilities of either of them). On the other hand, at least Kaberle (he is now second pairing Dman because Kabs-Zids wouldn't be that much efective on their own end) would have someone to play with (Tlusty/Plekanec). Plekanec was already joking about him being sent to the farm...
Edit: Andrew Ladd signed with Omsk so there goes one spot where G won't sign. So either some ton-of-money surprise will come from KHL or G really will be headed to either Germany or Kladno
I don't know about you guys, but I still can't take the KHL seriously.. The ads on the jerseys and the ice are just a pain to look at
Then you should try watching the finnish league. Seeing the ice there is like seeing the loch ness monster, many claim to have done it, but only a few have actually done it. Spotting the puck is impossible...

Well, at least there's no mandate on commercial breaks. I find that more annoying than the ads on the ice or jerseys, since it just wastes everyone's time. Jerseys can still be made to look good, and some would probably even profit from ads (the Islanders or this year's Phantoms, for example). It's just a matter of getting used to it, but I understand that growing up with ad-free jerseys you might have an aversion to those that have ads on them.

You're just saying that because you're Swedish, aren't you?
wow.. could you imagine Jagr and Giroux playing together?!??!?! I mean after jagr left the Flyers i thought they would possibly never cross paths with each other, now they may be teammates for a few months!
I think for Giroux going to Kladno is obviously not the best decision if he wants to make some money or possibly get a lot of ice time. I am sure Giroux doesn't want to mess up the chemistry of Jagr/Plekanec, so i really doubt Giroux will sign in Kladno.
But for Giroux career i think it would be best for him to go to Kladno so he can be under Jagr's wing for a few more months. I think it would help giroux build character and help him become a better leader, seeing Jagr, the God of his country, lead his team like a boss!
