Damn, they hired de Bontin. I'm going to pretend I was second choice and they just forgot to call me.

Clearly this means we're making a run at Pep Guardiola next year. (sarcasm)

I can't imagine they'll do it before the end of the season. Soler really didn't have much to do between now and the end of the year in all reality. I can't imagine a coaching change will help them right now for the playoff run.

Unless this was their hire. Then it would be a positive change. I just led the Red Bulls to a championship in FIFA13 after a stellar season. You can be my Jan Halvor Halvorsen.

By the way, is it bad that when I won the MLS Cup, and saw the confetti rain down (it was a home match), my first thought was how pissed Dan would be having to clean that off the field?

That would have been my reaction as well.

Someone on Twitter was ranting on was spot on. Look at everyone brought in this year, Cooper, Le Toux, Cahill, Conde etc. He got rid of Mehdi and loaned out the young guys in Palsson and Hertzog to get experience. I don't see how Soler deserved this fate.

He's definitely made moves to improve the team. More Hans' fault for not putting it together than anything, as they have depth for sure. I don't see why Soler should ever have been fired first. Its one thing if you wanted to unload both at the end of the season (assuming they don't win it all). I just don't see why Soler would ever go first. Not that I agree with letting him go altogether, but I could understand it if it was after the season.

You don't even know. Dan (the head Red Bull Arena groundskeeper) gets pissed off if you walk on the grass if it's not needed and after the trophy celebration for the Trophee Des Champions lost his **** when the confetti covered the field

And to clarify, it really wasn't a HUGE portion of the field in the grand scheme of things. The immediate area on the sideline where the benches are was absolutely covered. That went out probably about 20-25 yards. The bulk of that came up real quick with whatever machinery they used. But the wind blew that stuff really easy, so there were a few pieces that scattered essentially all over. We had what, about 10-15 people walking around the field, picking up a few pieces by hand? In FIFA, the confetti is literally raining down everywhere. Right in the middle of the field. I think if that celebration happened for real at Red Bull Arena, he would probably have a heart attack on the spot.

To be fair, it would be the last game of the year so the field would just get torn up so they could resod it in February. Plus he'd be getting a pretty nice ring assuming the home team won.

True. So maybe he'll get over the confetti part. But he would get pissed when you and I decided to step on the grass anyway. Be it then, or long after the field was cleared of teams/players/real staff.

Oh, I just assumed he'd be pissed about having to clean the entire field. That's even worse.

I guess. The guy they replaced him with has 1 year of experience with Monaco and his claim to fame in that short tenure was trying to get Freddy Adu. I don't get this move at all but I'll reserve judgement until after the Red Bulls get upset by Vancouver in the first round.

Still so annoyed that Arsenal got Cazorla. HE WAS THE CHOSEN ONE.

Kagawa & Manchester United's 2nd Round Referee Selection in 2013 for Cazorla (e4)

Do it Wenger! Kagawa will increase your Asian market revenues 50 times over! Spanish players are so passť!
