I figure the strength issue might be more easily in the AHL, because in the SEL (highest league in Sweden) they play to win, not develop youngsters that'll leave for NA in a few years. Whereas in the AHL, teams have the responsibility of guiding and training players based on individual needs in order to prepare them for the big club.

The SEL is as you say, more concerned with winning games. And you are
right that a farm team (Bulldogs) would be more concerned with developing a
Hab prospect. But that misses the point.
The point was about strength. And it was you that made this point. Strength
is easier to build if you play less games, and if you play less minutes in games.
And please do not confuse building strength, with unrelated things like, being
in shape, or worse, playing pysical.

Is Collberg actually ahead of somebody right now? Who is the 13th forward? Who isn't dressed at all?

For some reason there's very few SEL streams.

yeah it's odd. I always manage to find 1 or 2 games but I have yet to see a Frolunda's game.

I heard his potential to be a bench warmer is off the charts.

Just send him down...

6:35 of ice time today. Hopefully more NHLers sign with Frolunda so something give's - either back to the J20 league to play tons of minutes or a loan to another team in SEL/Allsvenskan.

It's clear the Frolunda coach is not a fan of his.

It's a sports in Europe thing. Same thing happened to Jonas Valanciunas at the Olympics. Barely played. It's part of the culture over there.

It happens to rookies in the NHL and NBA too, especially coaches that emphasize fundamentals and team play over individual skill (as tends to be the case in European basketball and hockey too). These are teams concerned with winning now and the idea is if you aren't dominant you should be a cog in the machine, meaning experience matters a lot.

Martin was a lot like that, especially with Eller and his use of limited role players like Darche who were effective at one or two things while being defensively responsible.

I hope and think that the coach might finally be fired with this poor start.

Olimb and Dick Axelsson were out with injuries. Jonathan Johnson and Kristoffer Wikner were the extra forwards today.

Is Collberg fan and rumored Frolunda head coach in 2013-14 Roger Rönnberg available to coach this team now? Or does his commitment to the National Team prevent it?

Rönnberg probably can't step in no, but also Frölunda's economy is very bad at the moment (why Karlsson is playing in Finland) so I don't think they can afford to fire him.

fwiw, Duchene was shooting practising with Collberg and the other juniors after the regular ice practise ended according to reports. Maybe they find chemistry and end up on a line together, would be so awesome to see Collberg on Duchene's wing.
