Through the season he always seemed to skate back hard and play a solid defensive game and one of the last guys off the ice during warmups (the ones I saw, anyway). I heard he was on the ice at River Heights C.C. over the Christmas break - clearly a guy who loves to play the game.

Maybe they were trying to set things up for sending him down to St. John's to begin the season (if there wasn't a lockout) - cause I remember Lawless pushing that angle pretty hard, and again from out of the blue...

Anyway, I hope he thrives in St. John's and he can show Telegin and Klinger a few things.
Yea my guess is that Alex has allot of pride and maybe had some communication and maturity issues that created a "normal, everyday, real world, temporary, challenge" that can happen routinely on pro teams. Obviously this stuff is not for the faint of heart and it’s unfortunate Gary shined some light on something that maybe would have best been left behind closed doors.

I agree as well from what I saw Alex worked really hard last season but it also appeared at times he might not have followed the game plan as closely as he could have. However, that is all part of the maturing process of a young player with some language challenges and this is a new season and I am pretty jacked that he is on the rock and working his a55 off

I love your avatar haha!

It's frustrating trying to talk hockey with people who don't really know what is going on. Got into a Twitter scrap with someone who insists Burmistrov is going to play KHL and doesn't understand the difference between him, Yakupov and Seguin.

Even if you don't understand what's going on... why are people as stupid enough to realize:
if Burmistrov was to jump to KHL he would of already been playing for his home team who wants him.

Radio coverage:
http://tunein.com/radio/CJYQ-930-s24806/

I'll put streaming coverage if I find some.

They are keeping some of the top players in the press-box for the first game since they want this to predominately be an evaluation.

Someone seriously needs to put a moratorium on the Ak-Bars' head coach's twitter account. This is the third time he's surreptitiously started a rumour about Burmi potentially joining the Ak-Bars.

Nice piece from the Telegram on Dean Arsene, who in my mind was a big pick up over the summer. He'll add grit on the D which we need when we play Worcheste, Portland and Manchester.

BTW

Seasons tickets are going out today via courier. Can't wait to get mine.

Last season there was about 900 seats left after ST were sold, many of these were sold in 10 packs, and the rest went before every game.

This season only about 300 were left after ST's were sold. Precious few were left after the 10 packs were sold, mostly singles or in upper 114 (the dry section). From what I have heard tickets for individual games up to Christmas are for sale but at best only singles are available.

Three straight losses to "those punks from Syracuse"

Oh well, at least your getting a new scoreboard at Mile One Centre.

Looks like a nice squad! The D's will be solid and Im looking to see if Pasquale can continue his development to eventually become a reliable NHL backup.

A guy who is quite happy settling for the status quo is the de facto man in charge of a hockey team. That is quite amusing.

I'm confused. I took the exact opposite from this article...

I pulled that from when he stated that he would be just as happy being an equipment manager. I'm glad he loves what he's doing and is not content to rest on his laurels. It should be a great year for the farm team. I may just see about picking up a streaming subscription package.

Ya I think the D is pretty much set for the season (exclulding injuries):
Meech-Postma
O`Neill-Redmond
Arsene - Ramsey
Melchiori

If Dex gets back to pre-injury form he will probably win starter over Pasquale. Nothing against Pasquale, he is after all young for a tender. But they'll start out:
Pasquale
Dekanich

Forwards is another story; I have no idea what it will end up being, but what I'd do is:
Jaffray*-Burmistrov-Machacek
Telegin-Maxwell-King
Klingberg-Cormier-Sawada*
Whitmore-O`Del-Trembley
Spares: Sutherby, Gagnon, Albert* and Marcenauer
*remember that Jaffray, Albert and Sawada are on injury list currently

That's a good line up. Final cuts should be announced today.

Zinger brought in guys who will serve us well regardless of lockout or not.

Sutherby worked his ass off in the games.Ray Kaunisto should make this team as well.
