RMC sure, Queen's is a little more further out though.
It's 1.5km from the JDUC to the K-Rock centre. I know that Queen's students are notorious for taking a cab from one end of campus to the other, but that's definitely walking distance. U of O students walk further to go to Zaphod's.
My wife went to Queen's and although I didn't, I spent enough time there... even played intramural sports. I know the area. I don't think they would support an AHL team, not once the lockout gets lifted and the novelty wears off.
Jeff Hunt focused on marketing to families to get crowds out to the 67's because he recognised that marketing to students was a bad idea. For starters, students are a transient population, and so you keep having to start over and don't build a hardcore fanbase. Also, having too many students at a game leads to an atmosphere which is not very family friendly, so it drives the more stable ticket buyers away.
You never answered my question: have you been to Binghamton, to make such judgements about it?
You can keep fooling yourself about Kingston, it's of no consequence matter to me. I'm not going to argue any more about it, it's been done ad nauseam over the years here and elsewhere. If it were such a good idea, you can be sure it would have been done already... These people (NHL owners) didn't become billionaires because they were bad businessmen.
And this is coming from someone who actually likes Kingston.
I wish you luck, sincerely.
Yeah I have to visit a buddy that goes to school there.
I dont know why you are getting offended lol. Plain and simple it's a terrible city to live in.

I'm not offended, I don't live there. I just like to know if people have actually been to a place before they trash it. It kind of matters when you want to evaluate their opinions.
For example, I know lots of people on the West coast that trash Ottawa (or Ontario as a whole) and yet they've never been here. That makes me evaluate their opinions differently.
Queens is close to Kroc, especially since a majority live in student houses downtown.
When I went to the game, most were old people and families. They need to market to the Students more.
And you're a marketing student?
See above about Jeff Hunt and the 67's. You'd do well to study what he did (and still does) to make the 67's successful.
Students don't buy season tickets. Season tickets are the bread and butter for sports franchises. They allow them to get all of the money up front, and plan ahead instead of paying their expenses on a day-to-day basis.

Yes I am a marketing student.
You are pigeon-holing Kingston as a student town. Students only account for a portion of Kingston. We also have a very large military base. The military accounts for 20% of the population. We have many large business's that will buy season tickets and boxes. They do already. There is no reason for them to top if if the quality improves
I just graduated from Queen's Commerce (the most expensive undergrad program at Queen's). There are some well off people at Queen's, but it's not a bunch of rich kids ready to throw around cash. As Qward said, many are on loans/scholarships :p
As for getting them to go to games, it's hard enough to get kids to go to football games every sat (and they are FREE) for our own school (although they are usually packed). I went every so often to fronts games, usually if a player was in town that I wanted to see, but too much going on for the average student to be attracted to going to watch a team that isn't really even their "hometown" team. Beer prices prob don't help either :p
As for comment about Queens, I was just making a joke. I know many friends who are currently attending Queens who are hardly "rich".
As for the comments that spoiled rich University kids aren't going to go watch junior hockey, I'm living proof that is false. Season tickets to the Wolves.

Yeah could tell, just making sure others knew :p On topic, whats the deal with prince?
