I watched Jokerit - HIFK But hopefully someone here watched the Pelicans - Lukko..

Maybe jatkoaika.fi readers can tell something about it?

I see that Erik Karlsson played an enormous 31,41 min for Jokerit and the Filppula brothers a lot as well (I suppose that is what "aika" means?!) It seems very clear cut who will assume responsibility (its like Jokerit only used 2 lines according the stats )....maybe a lot of PP and PK time also inflated these numbers?!
Was Karlsson as great again as the hype says?!

Yeah first two peroids were allmost full of PP's (and PK's) and thats why the playing times were strange.

Karlsson was very, very good tonight. He wasnt that good in Oulu, probably it was the jetlag, but now he was very good overall.

Heres highlights for Lukko game:

Wonder if Nichlas Hardt will be "unemployed" when he return from injury, they way Jokerit is playing now with 3'rd and 4'th lines almost reduced to spectators. But it really looks like Jokerit and perhaps Lukko can begin to move away from the bottom of the league.

Edit: Tried the highlights but its not working....saying "sisöltöä ei voida nättyää" - meaning "no net connection"??

Don't worry, he won't be scratched. He's very important for Jokerit and their fans love him.

Content can't be shown. Probably means the video is only available in Finland.

So what was the fallout with the whole Pikkarainen situation? I saw that he didn't play against Lukko (neither did Kuusela?) and I assume he was suspended for at least that one game.

About Ilves. There's been some serious strife between the club's management and governing board which about two weeks ago led to the whole management (GM staff, marketing people, everyone) to resign from their posts.

The club's going through some really rough times and there's even been talk about the organization bankrupting and having to restart from a lower league.

This tifo was made in support of the struggling club. It's not a literal translation, but I suppose the Swedish slogan used here could be translated loosely as "Don't give up, Ilves".

And what makes this special that this thing was not organized by the fans of Ilves, but the fans of HIFK, the team they played against. I wasn't in the game, but a buddy of mine was, and he apparently sat pretty close to where the tifo went up. One of the plague holders actually said to the Ilves fans sitting behind them, that, "You may not see anything in a while, but I don't think you'll mind. This is for you."

A god damn class A class act. One for the books.

United smile? Ridicilous if you ask me. Bad support in their own games and then try to collect some respect by showing pity on a club which has driven itself on that position? Please. Respecting your opponent and other fans is not what is shown in this picture.

Sure, feel free to think that way. It's apparently not however what the players and fans of Ilves thought. And I guess they're the ones who count.

Defenseman Ville Koistinen and goalie Miika Wiikman praised the act on Facebook and twitter. Raipe (Ilves head coach) was so taken by it he called the group after the game and thanked them personally.

And even if it's somewhat true that the club has no one but itself to blame... the ones those HIFK fans aimed their support at, namely the fans and the team itself, can't be held accountable for the idiocy by a bunch of suits.

IMO Steve Moses is the best foreign player in the league atm (Lockout players not included). "Ryan Lasch" of season 12/13. Perrin and Dixon are candidates too but they already have experience of SM-Liiga...Moses is rookie in that department. As a Jokerit fan I'm slightly biased but still what a pick by GM Kekäläinen.

Really happy now at the fact that Honkanen has been a healthy scratch and Parkkonen looking really solid in his place for the last four games. Raanta also really good so far in goal.

Edit. Honkanen replaces Parkkonen in the third pairing and Järvenpää starts. I mean I know it's two games in two days and blablabla, but this still confuses me big time. Very little faith in Ässät to win a second straight game against Tappara.

Craig Smith's strenghts are perfect for Sm-Liiga. Though I believe he will make a great career in NHL too.

Would you look at that... another pathetic match penalty given to Ässät. This time should have gotten a 2 min penalty though.

Well, what can you expect.

It's funny considering he looks pretty bad most of the time.

Seems like doing dirty work in front of the goal suits him well.

SM-Liiga politics:

Decrease fighting: the protection
Increase allowing dirty plays by "mickeymouses"

What a effin joke.

NHL come back..I want to see real hockey.
