It's going to be great seeing actual Hockey games being played, because it's getting a lot harder seeing replays of the same games on Leafs TV and the NHL Network.
I agree that many of us underestimate and undervalue Scott. In addition to the characteristics mentioned above, he is also a very good skater. Somebody has to b responsible on D and do the dirty work, even on a first line. You can't just put three gunners on the ice. Scott will play an important role on that first line if that is indeed the threesome Eakins puts out there.

McKegg has been playing well in camp, sounds like he'll get a crack at some solid minutes. D'amigo should be playing with Colborne they had alot of chemistry last year. Lines will be shuffled all the time but this is what I think sticks.
Aucoin - Kadri - Frattin
McKegg - Ziggy - Scott
D'Amigo - Colborne - Ashton
Hamilton - Deschamps - Kamarov
Acton - Ross
Fraser and Holzer were the top shutdown pair last year playing a whack of minutes. Ranger and Blacker seemed to get some time together at camp and the same can be said for Gardiner and Kostka. That leaves Gysbers as the odd man out for now like you said already.
Edit: Here's the marlies reporter Jon Abbott with the starting lines for today's pre-season game.
These will not be the actual lines during the regular season. This is Dallas' last chance to get a look at a few guys.
Ashton Colborne Abbott
Kadri Aucoin Scott
McKegg Ryan Ross
Devane Crescenzi Brenner

Ashton Colborne Abbott
Kadri Aucoin Scott
McKegg Ryan Ross
Devane Crescenzi Brenner
Gardiner Kostka
Ranger Blacker
Yeo Gysbers
Scrivens/Owuya will split the game.
Yeah Kadri should definitely stay on the top line. Since he has chemistry with Aucoin, him too. Holzer would probably be in and Komorav. So yeah, good chance to look what these new guys can do.
Ashton – Colborne – Abbott
Kadri – Aucoin – Scott
McKegg – Ryan – Ross
Devane – Crescenzi – Brenner
DEFENSIVE PAIRINGS
Gardiner – Kostka
Ranger – Blacker
Yeo – Gysbers
Scrivens and Owuya expected to split the net.
It'll be interesting to see how Abbott does with Colborne and Ashton. He's a small guy so it could work out with Ashton and Colborne doing most of the work down low.
