He'll probably get the edge over Yeo. Gysbers did lead the team in defensive scoring last season while Yeo bounced between ECHL/AHL (IIRC).
Kostka is better than Gysbers though, as is Ranger, Holzer, Fraser, Gardiner and Blacker. Maybe Gysbers will be the number 7, but he won't be a top 6 guy if the rest are healthy.

My point was at times some of the posters here get over enamoured with high talent, flashy, skilled players that look on the ice. But when it is all said and done, you wonder why they have less production than you would highly expect. Understated can be just as effective as overstated, ie. Finn. That was my point. Both are good I guess, but understated is often overlooked. I am sorry if you feel I am picking on Gally, but since he has come back from his injury 2 regular season games, playoffs, US Camp, and this season, he has not been a PPG player despite obvious talents this player possesses. Am I making any of this up? So yes he needs to start producing like Rielly has atleast, who was in the same injury position of catching up.

This looks right.. I cant see the captain playing on the 4th line though... Kostka will bump gysbers. Swap Deschampes with D'amigo. Wow thats some nice depth. Komarov and Abott breathing down your neck... Frattin coming off the reserve soon... wow lookout. Seems like the lockout may light a few fires. Definitely no entitlement on this team. I definitely do not anticipate Ross making this squad.

I agree with what you say. I'm glad of the way how our draft went, but I feel it is too early to judge anyone from that draft.

The one player that got trashed last year...is off to a flyer though. Mikhail Grigorenko. I think he'll be a #1C or be very close to it. Every time I see him play he reminds me of Jason Spezza.

Agree 100% in the bolded.
However still not sold on Grigs, he is showing a pattern here of playing well when the competition is easiest. Not so much when it isn't. Not sure I like the pattern but we will see.

I thought last night Finn was awesome. He was definitely deserving of the 1st star honours. He shut down Marchese - Vail - Schoenmakers line. He also moved the puck great, and made some nice passes. That line, more specifically Vail was all over him last night, and Finn never made a mistake. Finn's been great this year. He didn't show the offensive flash that he's shown earlier in the season, but played a very strong defensive game. It felt like he played the entire game.
Garret Sparks looked solid as well. He was never really tested, but he held the fort and made saves when he needed to. I also liked it when Ebert got shoved into him in the last minute of game, and Sparks jumped on top of him .
Now onto Percy. Percy has been freaking awesome this year. He been extremely solid, and honestly, I can't name more than 3 defenceman I would take over him in the OHL. Such a smart player, and I think his offensive ability is underrated.

If it's a shortened season, I'm beginning to wonder if Rielly will make the jump this year. He can get called up and since he has still been playing he will be in game mode already while others ould still have to ease in. Also one of my bigger concerns earlier was that since he missed most of last year, it would take a while for him to get back into game shape. If half the season is cancelled by the time it starts he would already be in game shape. He would still be allowed that 9 game stint so really that could end up being like 1/4th of the season, may not be much harm in keeping him for the rest...

Which is great. Think about how many times we've seen defensemen make our goalies look bad (and vice versa too, of course). It's nice to know we've got some smart prospects coming through the pipe-line who can play their role and make things easier on the players around them.

Colborne and Ashton together is a no-brainer....and if they play well, them stepping right in to the NHL together as a 3rd line (along with, say, Frattin on the other wing) could turn out very nicely.
I sure hope Kadri is getting the C spot on that line, and not Aucoin. And, for that matter, I'd hope they'd keep McKegg at C until he proves he can't handle the position.
