Anyone who watches more junior hockey... would he and Lukas Sutter be comparable?

And the lack of any Jackets roster players who have actually played NHL games for Columbus is... complicated.

The big issue, really, is that there's a frequent pattern among folks assessing the Jackets in that only newcomers and prospects are apparently allowed to get any respect. And this is unfortunately a reminder of that even if that was completely coincidental. It's kind of irritating, and affects even well-intentioned and/or otherwise completely fair comments.
not sure why you get upset over comments like this...if that's our third line in a couple of years, that means we're doing something right...

Montreal offers up Gallagher + Nashville #2. Its probably not enough though. I really do like Boone though. Fantastic work ethic and a real hockey player

Jackets will have their own Mike Richards someday...they will keep him

The guy will be the hardest skater on the ice every shift. He really doesn't take a night off. In the words of Pierre , get excited Columbus

Is Columbus looking for D prospects? Besides Murray I'm not sure. I'd offer McNabb or Pysyk.

Actually, that is one area where we are pretty much set with John Moore, Tim Erixon, David Savard, Cody Goloubef, Will Weber, and of course Murray.

Yes, he is starting out well in the CHL but playing in the NHL is a big difference. We fans think just because our prospects end up tearing the CHL up that the will be a 50 point player, well last year there were only 100, fifty point players. Not that many and for any player to get 50 points in the NHL makes him a legit top 6 or top dman offensively.

Not one of those one hundred skate anywhere near as poorly as Jenner. Not even close. Unless he just had two broken ankles at the WJCs.

Interesting. I've read quite a few projections and reviews regarding Jenner, but have not seen anyone who rates his skating as poorly as you have. Perhaps you did just catch him on a bad day?

Nobody here is saying Jenner will be a superstar. Some people think he has 1st line potential, but I Think he has 2nd line potential, but guranteed 3rd liner.

His skating has significantly improved from last year, by all accounts.

I've only seen him at the WJCs. He skated like a duck waddles around trying to lay too big of an egg. I was really impressed with his sand and I really like him as a player. I was just shocked when I saw him skate.

Good to hear about the skating. I'm rooting for him and I'm rooting for the jackets.

Really wanted the oil too take him at 31, how does Pitlick for Jenner sound?

Pitlick is big and fast with a great shot, who likes to play physical, he also has pretty good hands.

He's also a defenseman. We have tons of those in Murray, Moore, Savard, Erixon, Goloubef, Weber, etc.

I was thinking Leivo, in terms of their OHL production.

I don't know Pitlick, so I wonder if there any good reason why the CBJ should trade one promising young center for another?

He was drafted as a center, but hes been playing wing in the AHL. He has a lot more tools than Jenner and is farther along in development but the Oilers need more of a sure thing at center, and there is no guarantee that Pitlick will move back to C.

What about something along the lines of...

Kadri + Franson

for

Jenner + Moore

True, although guys like Pascal Dupuis and Matt Cooke have played on those lines as well, and they sure as hell aren't first liners.

I'm trying to think of the reverse of that to demonstrate the absurdity of this particular idea, but really can't. Figure that Moore is just starting his third pro season, and played nearly all of last year in the AHL. He'd be right there in the Blacker/Finn/Percy area, except that he has a full NHL season. He's not exactly throw-in material here...in other words, he's not exactly Cody Franson.

Kadri for Jenner? Ask yourself whether that's something that both sides would actually pause to consider.

I don't know much about Kunitz's early days, but I imagine, after Crosby and Malkin, who else has he crossed off the bucket list? Sounds like a cool thread idea.
