Lol, like father like son.

Incapable of breaking the puck out or making a tape-to-tape pass haha.

Miller is a bull. Nice power move.

I joined late - did Jim say anything about Hrivik? Is he hurt?

Bourque and Thomas aren't playing either. I'm guessing they're just sitting this one out.

Vintage Brayden Schenn. Invisible at all time, gets a goal.

What a great reaction from Kolarik on the goal there. That HAD to feel good after so long.

Fun to watch, celebrated when Kolarik scored too. Miss watching hockey.

3-1 Whale. Kolarik scored the go ahead with about 26 seconds left in the 3rd then Kreider gets the empty net.

I'm really liking what I've seen of Kyle Jean thus far. Kid is looking like a pretty legitimate prospect.

Guy has great size, that's for sure. Hopefully he can round out his skills and become a good 3rd liner for us one day.

JT Miller deserves big minutes in the AHL if he keeps playing like that. Great offensively from what I saw today. Agreed on Jean as well. That whole line did great, I'm a big fan of Yogan.

Kreider had a below average game

The Phantoms had a lot of guys who played a lot in the NHL last year--Schenn and Couturier are NHL players but they also had Bourdon, Gustafsson, Eric Wellwood, Zolnierczyk, Rinaldo and Brandon Manning who had a cup of coffee. The Whale did pretty well against them.

Jean looks like a really good find. Several times he seemed to grab a loose puck and start an attack out of his own zone with a nifty move. Hard to get off the puck once he gets it. Very impressed with him. Miller as well--though I think he'll need to get just a bit stronger. He also flubbed that penalty shot--he needed to come in faster. Kreider's speed gave them problems at times--he wasn't always apparent but he looked good on the pk. Kolarik and Newbury both played very well. Didn't see too much out of Segal. Yogan with a nice goal.

The defense having a bunch of scrubs performed quite well. Collins has some NHL experience--ditto Vernace. But Piche looked good. Klassen held his own. Parlett took too many penalties but is good with the puck. Niemi was solid.

Missiaen played excellent. Robbed Schenn in the 3rd period.

Check out CapGeek and scroll to the non-roster players section: http://capgeek.com/charts.php?Team=22

He's got the 4th biggest contract of any player other than Redden. There's a reason the Rangers paid up to get Jean to give up his final year of college eligibility and join the organization. Very excited for him and Hrivik as undrafted prospects.

Kreider has 2 goals today. Miller has the other. 3-2 Whale in the 2nd. Whale is playing Sharks AHL team. Jim Cerny is at the game and he has a camera. Kreider goals were nice.
