Mother of god....I just had literally one of the best nights anyone's ever had in Auction House history..maybe.
First off, got SOTW Weber for 60k. Nice, he's going for around 180k+.
Then, like a half hour later, SOTW Suter for 30k (goes minimum for 130k). Now keep in mind, Suter and Weber are two guys I want on my final team, and I happened to have original Suter and Weber already, so I sold the Weber for 25k (got him for 21, was just looking to get rid of him quick for a profit), so I basically got that Weber SOTW for 35k, lollll.
I was then looking to package SOTW Suter and my original Chara, for a SOTW Chara, because the Bruins are my favorite team, and I want Chara to be my captain, so a SOTW one would be awesome. Tried for a couple of trades, they didn't go through.
I had 220k pucks at the time, and SOTW Chara was going for anywhere from 285k-400k, so I didn't want to blow all my pucks on him, because I still have to get a bunch more people I want for my final team, and the more pucks you have, the easier it is to build up pucks via filpping.
So I go back and forth between the SOTW players, and the regular players, looking for deals, hoping to find a SOTW Chara for cheap. And eventually I went back to the SOTW players, and BAM SOTW CHARA 100k BIN, was at 59 minutes and 56 seconds on it, so the guy must've LITERALLY just put it up. Bought it so fast it's not even funny. And because I already have an original Chara, I then put that up, and I'll get somewhere between 45-50k for it, therefore I basically just got that SOTW Chara for 50 or 55k.
Then when I sell the original Suter, he's up for 8k, 8.9 BIN, I'll have gotten that SOTW Suter for basically 22k.
CLIFFS:
Got SOTW Chara, Weber, and Suter all for a combined 110k.
Now all I need is a SOTW Rinne, who I want for my goalie. I already have a Rinne original, so I'll be able to sell that if I get one. All of my pucks have been earned via buying and selling on the Auction House, and by playing some games, but 95% of my pucks are from flipping players. Have only bought a couple of packs, and haven't gotten anything even decent, and all of the packs I bought were with pucks, haven't spent a single microsoft point. You CAN build your dream team without microsoft points, take it from me, I started out with literally 0 pucks this year because I skipped NHL 12. It' about persistance, patience, and most of all, getting lucky at the right time.
So my team will be
Parise - Zetterberg - Ryan
Kane - Datsyuk - Seguin
E. Kane - Bergeron - Oshie
Lucic - Krejci - Horton
A hybrid of my favorite team, the Bruins, mixed with two of my other favorite teams, the Predators and Red Wings, with a couple more of my favorite players from around the league. I still need to get Datsyuk, Zetterberg, Parise, Ryan, P. Kane, Pietrangelo, Oshie, Krejci, Lucic, and Horton, but I'm getting there. I'll be up to 218k in pucks when I sell my stuff I have up, so I'm hoping to have my team by the end of the month. I'm going to change all their teams to the Bruins. I could go for a cheaper team, but I can get Boston team changes for 1500, basically, and plus, I'll only have to buy 11 of them (already changed Blum), as opposed to buying 22 of some other team.
Also, got two coach Fiddlers, the second best coach in the game, behind Samuels, for 850 and 700 respectively. He's plus 2 in everything, except he's plus 1 in shot, and plus 0 in Defense. Going to sell one for 3k and keep the other one until I can get a good price for a Samuels.
Sorry for the essay.

Guess that means I should stop going home on the weekend and stay at college and play NHL 13 instead.
Seriously though, I agree with a lot of people on the players not selling. I put up 30 players for sale on Friday afternoon and only one card of those 30 has sold so far, that being my C-LW card that I bought for 1.95k (sold for 7k within a couple hrs of it being up).
I know he's not rated very good, even with the SOTW tag on him but I'm surprised that there was a Saku Koivu up for over an hour for 3.25k and no one had bought him yet. He may not be worth anything close to a SOTW Selanne or Brodeur, but I gotta think I can at least make a few thousand profit on him.

Yeah, you might be able to get like 6k for him. I got a SOTW Peverley yesterday for 4550 bid, was like YESSSSS because I'm going to have an alternate lineup, of the 2011 Stanley Cup champion Bruins, so he'll be great on that.
God that one guy on the EA forums is so stupid when it comes to HUT. He's bought like 7 rare player packs already, and is seriously considering buying an 8th. He's had really good luck but. . . . . .seriously?
$10 a pack times 7 packs
+
$25 on Season Ticket
+
$20 on the SC edition

$115 extra dollars he's spent on the game and it's only been out for a month!!! That's not even including how much money he's probably spent on other card packs besides the recent Rare Player packs. The day I even give $10 extra dollars to those greedy ****ers at EA. . . . . . .
The funniest part about the Chara, is the guy put training on him, he was unused, but he had training on him. So I don't know if he was trying to fool people or something, I mean, the guy's +3 all already, so he tried to fool people into thinking he was better than he was, and he still underpriced him by 250k+, lol.

I'm gonna copy and paste too.
If anything, putting training on someone makes a person less likely to buy him because you know the seller is trying to pull a trick on a potential buyer, making you respect him/her less, if that makes sense.

It completely makes sense. It even made me hesitate for a split second, because I saw the training and was like "u wot m8", but I came to my senses quickly and luckily it didn't cost me. The joke is most definitely on him, this time.

That's frigging absurd. Even if I was a billionaire, I wouldn't want to do that. Takes the fun out of it.

I wasn't even doing it on this one, I was just popping back and forth between the SOTW players and some other stuff, just completely lucked out.
I really wasn't ever a HUT person but I did spend a little bit of time on it last year. Why in the world is every one so expensive now? I remember getting Lundqvist for like 6k last year and this year he's at ~50k. Is it easier to earn pucks? I want to get the Rangers team but Gaborik is going for over 100k...like wtf how am I supposed to get THAT many pucks?

Its not easier to get pucks really, its just harder to get good players.. I kind of like it that way
If you bought even a decently cheap pack in 12 you could get some good players, but in this its muchhh harder to get any decent player.

Yeah I hear you...its def not easier to make pucks...packs still suck..
I want to get all the Bruins team and Chara is 30k plus...the SOTW Chara is 200k plus which I'll never get probably..
Atleast I only need Chara, Lucic, Thomas..
On that topic the 4500 "reward" I'll get for completing the team is a total joke...These rewards should be 10k or more...especially PIT, CHI, etc..You pay 100k-300k to complete the team to get 3500-6500 back? Total joke.
