From the radio broadcast of last night's game it sounded like Mormina and Sill were laying out people left and right. Will be hard to keep them off the roster even though others have more upside.

No prob. I figured that since he was a bit of a contentious pick, the board could use some positive feedback from a first-hand account. Especially with Grigorenko tearing up the Q.

Shattenkirk's probably the closest comparable I can come up with, and that ain't not half-bad.

Morrow just hammered a slapper off the post and into the net to give the Baby Pens a 1-0 lead against Hershey. Assists by Ferriero and Smith. Followed by another PP goal, Megna deflects a Grant shot. 2-0 WBS.

Megna has had a good camp so far, it seems. The best of the rookie forwards.

I liked Pouliot's chance in the early part of that video, and then he hustled back to erase the odd-man rush the other way. Strangely, he then turns his back to his man. Not good, but easily correctable I guess. He must be playing a ton, because he's in like 90% of that highlight vid.

Poulliot with an assist in Portlands loss.
Maata and Harrington are off to pretty slow starts pointwise. I know at least Harrington aint projected as an offensive guy, but the times ive watched him play he doesnt look unable to chip in offensively as well.

Glad to hear that he seems to continue producing points. Also glad the NCAA are just 1-2 week away since we have a major chunk of our prospects playing there

Sundqvist with a 3 point effort today. His team lost 6-3. I think it was their 1st loss in regulation this season

Yep, the Pouliot/Rutkowski pair were the go-to guys for Portland in every situation.

Read this from a poster on the LetsGoPens forum who watched the London Knights this weekend:

Harrington and Maata started the game paired together, but that didn't last long. About three or four shifts into the game, Connor McDavid came down on a 1-on-2 with them and was able to go outside-in on Harrington, then split them. McDavid is the real deal. Hunter broke up Harrington and Maata after that. For the rest of the game, Maata looked much better than Harrington. SH got muscled off a lose puck in the corner that directly resulted in an Otter goal. Maata always, always, always has his head up and moves the puck quickly and throws very crisp passes. I was impressed with his game and quite disappointed in Harrington's.

The NCAA season tends to start at different times for different teams. Some have already played their first real games, most will do so next weekend, and a lot of the Ivy league teams (like Cornell) won't start until the last week of October.
