I notice my payment wasn't processed today as expected. Anyone else see the same thing?

I have a concern since I had to replace my debit card a few weeks ago. Not sure if today's auto-payment will hit the card on my account or whether it will use the old one I used for the initial payment. I called my rep but I really don't expect to hear until the end of the long weekend so I'm curious to hear your experiences.

I replaced my debit card a few weeks ago, as well and while the number on the front of the card didn't change, the CVV (3 digit code on the back) and the expiration date changed. Your card may have not have been processed due to that information changing.

I'm not a STH so I can't say for sure, but I'd have to imagine that's the reason.

All Star Game Cancellation Speculation

This could probably be lumped in with the lockout thread but I think deserves its own topic.

Let's be real at this point. I put the percentage the All Star Game gets played at this point as 10% or less. If they come to a settlement soon, I'm guessing they would try to reschedule as many of the already cancelled games as they can. Of course, the first thing to go would be the all star break and this would be yet another kick in the balls to Columbus by the league.

A lot of people renewed their ticket plans because of the All Star game. Its the only explanation as to how ticket sales went fairly well after the disaster of last season and the pending trade of the face of the franchise.

How many people will be upset if the season gets played and the All Star Game gets pulled from us?

I'll be upset, but I know we'll get it in a few years so I won't be furious.

I'm going to choose to look at this situation in a positive fashion.

Obviously the league and the players never wanted a lockout, but Gary Bettman knew he painted Columbus into a corner when he announced they would host the All-Star game. This whole situation is just a clever ruse to allow for a cancellation of the only All-Star game in NHL history where the host team would have zero players involved.

I'm not sure which conspiracy theory is worse: that, or the one that the ASG was only awarded to stave off the anger from a fan protest.

I'm not sure the latter ever was a seriously discussed theory. The theory discussed was the TIMING of the ASG announcement designed to take the juice out of the fan protest.

good. I'd rather see an All Star Game when players want to play than one where every star is still pissed at the negotiations and gets a sore throat 2 days before it just to stick it to Bettman.

You couldn't care if we 'ever' see hockey here in Columbus again? Really?

I'm sad that the ASG was cancelled, but it does make me want to strengthen my resolve for hockey in this market. Columbus is so much more than outside hockey fans know, and I can't wait to show it when the time comes. It makes me more sad that there are people who apparently could care less about hockey in this town. Sadder still that their comments will be held up as representative of the entire fanbase.

On the plus side, if the game is given to CBus in 2015, that gives the team time to establish a true All-Star to represent the team.

That wasn't me.

Just to clarify, my comments were:

"Columbus deserves to host it in a complete season with no distractions," Blue Jackets fan Greg Miller said. "I believe it should have been canceled at the same time the Winter Classic was canceled. It would only be right for the league to stand up and allow the city to host the next All Star Game in order to make up for the revenue the city will be losing out on due to this ludicrous work stoppage that is still going on."

That quote really pissed me off. Maybe it's because I'm beaten down from the lockout, maybe it's because I'm tired from year after year of telling people that they don't get to decide where teams are located and who "deserves" them, or maybe it's because I really dislike the idea of saying really stupid things out of hurt.

I would like to ask that person if he'd like me to have Thrashers fans contact him. They lost an All-Star Game too...

Gotcha. Should've checked with you before posting that. It seems so unusual in comparison to your posts it just set me off a bit.

Your actual comment is something I can stand by 100%.

Understood, I doubt the other commenter is actually even a CBJ fan. He asked on twitter for anyone who had tickets to the all star game to comment on the cancellation so I sent the email. Anyone who chooses to rail on Columbus could have easily sent the email and been quoted with no verification.

Wow.... FIVE pages of comments about the ASG.

I lost interest in this season several weeks ago.
That's what I'm really pissed about, ----what they've done to my love of the game.

Admit it: The lockout is really about "how much more money can they extract from the fans".
The answer is "less and less" as you suck the goodwill right out of us.
