You have to put them in the Top 25 now.

Looks like App is going to rebound with a decent win vs. a bad team: Chattanooga. They were down 10-0 after 1 then scored 27 unanswered. Hopefully that's a sign of things to come. I'm liking Steve Miller, he had a big day. Side note, wish Neil Young was still on the team. Should be an easy win vs. Coastal next week, though they beat Furman and are close w/ Toledo right now. Following that Elon comes into town for Homecoming (which I'll be at), and they're tied in the 4th with Georgia Southern. Can't figure out either of those teams. I can't figure out anyone in the SoCon. It's going to be a cluster**** this year. Except for Western. They'll never win a Socon game ever again.

Make it 34-10 on a long pick 6. Defense has given up only 182 yards and have 3 turnovers. They'd be pitching a shutout if it weren't for two App turnovers. Much improved from last week.

disgracefull. pathetic. disgusting.
I could go on an on but I wont. it pisses me off too much. score 61 points. 389 rushing. 326 passing and it wasnt enough.
led by 16 going into the 4th and we couldnt get one freakin stop. not 1.
I would make the entire D walk from Norfolk to Durham,NH after that game.

New polls this week from The Sports Network and the Coaches Poll

http://campuscommuter.blogs.goupstat...arin-rankings/

Love how NAU knocks off Montana, and yet the Grizzlies remain in front of them in the Sports Network poll and NAU isn't even voted into Top 25 by coaches...

You expected otherwise? The vast majority of voters are from the east coast who never get to see any Big Sky games.

The polls were rendered useless in the FCS once the playoffs expanded anyway. When 24 teams out of about 80 make the damn postseason it's really hard to get too upset about anything other than those top four seeds. NAU should have an easy way to the playoffs now, not having Montana State or Eastern Washington on the schedule and knocking off Montana to start the conference schedule. I'm definitely eating crow...I picked them to finish 11th in the conference entering the season and that Arizona State game had me thinking I put them too high

Not really football related but there is a home game today. Its the other side of campus from the stadium but its a huge park near a couple tailgate areas. I used to walk through it everyday on my way to class during my Sophomore, Junior, and Senior year part 2. I bet its a wild scene in Boone today.

Also I wouldn't be surprised if we outdrew Miami this week. That'd make two ACC teams already this season after UNC @ Wake during the Montana weekend.

UNH bounces back with a great effort and win against previously undefeated Delaware 34-14.
was worried how they would respond after that fiasco defensively last week.

Great win by UNH. I can't really figure them out this year.

App is crushing Coastal 48-14 with still 10 to play. Now this is more like it. Steven Miller looks great and IMO the best back since Kevin Richardson graduated in 2007. Too bad he's a senior. Satterfield is throwing everything out there: reverses, double pitches and even plays under center. They even huddled for the first time in forever. One kind of cool moment was near the end of the third. Sam Martin kicked off then a Coastal dude got loose and Martin ran him down at the 10. They ended up fumbling a few plays later so Martin ended up keeping points off the board.

625 yards off offense and counting including over 300 yards on the ground.. They probably won't reach WVU numbers today but it looks like the Mountaineers will score 125 points today after App finishes off this drive.

55-14 final. On to Elon who isn't very good again this year. It's homecoming so I'll be at that one. Always fun to kick the **** out of them.

me either. Delaware didnt have 200 yards of offense until the final drive that made it 34-14 with under a minute left.

Solid performance by the UNH defense, then. Delaware had scored 35+ points 3 times this season, though only one was against a legitimate opponent. Still, I thought Delaware was for real in a season where not many are, again. They may indeed still be, as UNH looks to have a solid team this year. That game against ODU last week was nuts. And ODU has a strong team this year as well.

Pains me to report that Montana lost to EWU last night. I always liked Montana and basically considered them Appalachian west. Plus I never really cared for EWU. And, a bit selfishly, it makes App's victory over them look weaker every time they lose. Looking through their schedule, it seems like they have a fairly easy road until they hit MSU at the end of the season. Is that game in Missoula or Bozeman this year? The only other game that looks even semi tough could be North Dakota, but they haven't really beaten anyone yet.

Griz-Cat is in Missoula this year, at least. The fact it's the end of the season should help, because this team has absolutely no clue how to finish a game. After last week's second half collapse we had a late 4th quarter collapse last night. The coach has no faith in the QB (fairly appropriately), but tunnel-vision with the play-calling when the opponents are putting 9 in the box isn't going to run a game out, it's just going to result in the opposition getting the ball back in 3 plays...and the secondary is just awful this year so teams are just having their way passing.

The Griz habe outgained their opponents in all 3 losses this year, which makes that even more frustrating.

Mick Delaney definitely isn't the right coach for this team...thank God we extended him before he coached a single game.

A game against Northern Colorado is just what the doctor ordered right now. Thankfully the schedule up until Griz-Cat is definitely easy with only a couple challenges along the way (Southern Utah is a solid team, but I doubt they're going to win at Wa-Griz without the Griz handing the game away again and North Dakota is okay...Weber State always plays a close game and they're better than their record indicates, but they're in a tough transitional year like Montana, but with far less talent on the roster) so we still could wind up in the playoffs. In years past it would require us running the table to get to 8 wins, but with the playoffs expanding yet again it's very feasible for a 7 win Big Sky school to make it...but I don't know how willing the committee would be to put in a 7-4 team who's marquee win would be against North Dakota. We gotta beat Montana State for a playoff berth this year...and that's possible, Montana State has struggled mightily out of the gate...but they've played a powder-puff schedule and have been able to hold on in their games. I still can't believe a team that was losing in the 4th quarter to Drake has been stealing #1 votes from North Dakota State.

I'm kind of thrilled that ODU gets Towson the week after Towson has to go to Harrisonburg. The very last game between ODU and JMU could be huge as far as national rankings go.

logic would dictate that UNH should run the table until the finale against Towson. But UNH has a habit of playing down to teams they should easily handle. Starting with this weekend @ Georgia State.

Well Northern Colorado did a lot to fix what had been ailing Montana...the Griz were -9 in turnovers through the first four games of the season and went +5 on Saturday. Now we enter a four game stretch against the four worst run defenses in the Big Sky Conference.

The weirdest thing about the Griz run attack is that this is still a spread team. There's never a fullback on the field, but we've got 4 players with 40+ carries averaging over 5 yards a carry right now. Dan Moore may be gone for a while (we blew Joey Counts' redshirt on Saturday because he's the only power runner on the depth chart after Moore...that tells me it's not going to just be a couple weeks for Moore), but Canada is back at least. Nguyen/Canada is just a pure speed combo, though...Moore was like having a Jerome Bettis type that could get 5 yards a carry every carry. Nguyen and Canada are more first down or loss of one guys.

Regardless...the table is set...Montana needs to win the next four to have a shot at the playoffs. It'll be real interesting to see how many teams the Big Sky can fit in there this year. Montana State and Eastern Washington are already basically guaranteed barring huge collapses, Northern Arizona and Cal Poly have great records and easy schedules, Montana's only real competition between now and Griz-Cat game is an inconsistent Southern Utah team, and Sacramento State is making their case (though their typical late-season collapse should be expected with a schedule that features Eastern Washington, Cal Poly, and Montana State consecutively).

The CAA's days atop the heap are obviously done...but it's an interesting battle between the Big Sky and Missouri Valley for the crown right now.

So can we pretty much all agree that NDSU is going to repeat this year? They just destroyed the #3 team in the country.

They're so far above everyone else in the FCS right now that I'm fully expecting a three-peat at this point.

As a former student of three-peat nation, that would make me incredibly unhappy. But seeing GSU, JMU and Wofford all in the top 10 and us at 13 is also taking care of that.

Surprised NDSU didn't get any votes in the FBS poll this week and somehow still aren't unanimous in the FCS. Montana State had to hold off a potential game tying pass on 4th from 2-4 UC Davis and still ended up surrendering 41 points.

I really hate Big Sky refs. Southern Utah fumbles twice on the same drive and gets both negated by garbage personal foul calls (one on the corner back for delivering a shoulder tackle to the back which caused the fumble...apparently the ref thought it was head-to-head though neither helmet even touched the other guy and it wasn't even close and the other for a facemask that never happened) and wind up getting a touchdown when the QB's knee was down two feet short.

Yeesh.

App had a season saving 80 yard drive at the end of the game to win it 28-25 over Samford. If Georgia Southern takes out Wofford, App can win the next 4 and win a solo conference championship.

Going to be a huge shakeup this week. #1, #2, #3, #5 or #7, and #8 all losing.

UNH rallies and survives against Richmond 44-40. UNH led 34-17 and UNH which had been running the ball pretty well suddenly starts passing. the offense stalls and thanks to shoddy tackling Richmond rallied for a 40-34. Richmond missed the extra point on the final score which ended up being huge.
UNH scored and kicked their PAT for a 41-40 lead with 3 minutes left or so. Richmond goes 3 and out and UNH kcks a FG with under a minute left. UNH survives when a last second hail mary is batted down in the endzone.
Very, very fortunate to get out with a win, Richmond also missed a 24 yard FG to close the first half. we got lucky but ill take the win.
