I am fairly confident that this KHL journey does only good for Ovechkin, even if he is playing in lower league he seems like the good old great 8 again..
We'll see. I'll be skeptical until he starts regularly putting up multi-point and multi-goal games in the NHL again. Too many have prematurely declared that Ovie is roaring back.

Yeah, that was what we heard all last year, every time Ovechkin managed to get a single goal: "He's back!"
I agree that he's not "back" unless he starts producing multi-goal games in the NHL and until it's no longer surprising that he's doing so.
Right now the fact that some people are so quick to declare him "back" on the basis of a two-point game in the KHL shows me that they don't expect much from Ovechkin now.
3 goals, as Ovie-like as they may look, in seven games is hardly numbers to get excited about with Ovie, either.
KHL is not a high scoring league like the NHL, points leader has 16 points in 15 games.
Radulov has 15 points in 14 games
Malkin has 9 points in 9 games
Ovechkin has 8 points in 7 games, nothing wrong with that
Oh, so Ovechkin is performing roughly the same as Alexander Radulov (NHL career high 44 points), Jori Lehtera (1 point in 7 career AHL games), and our 20 year old prospect. That's reassuring...
Ovechkin was the best player in the world. Him putting up a point/game and less than half a goal/game in the KHL is not him being even close to "back."

The difference is Malkin and Ovie have jumped straight in without any training camp or previous (recent) experience with their teams. I doubt either of them is completely up to speed yet.

I don't know if you are watching, but I wouldn't say Ovechkin's hockey IQ which has been the problem the last couple years has been any problem. Its been the finish, which really hasn't been the problem the last 2 years, besides of course the one timers which before I think it was you(correct me if I'm wrong) that was complaining that he was trying to hit the puck as hard as he could on a one timer, well he's not anymore if you look at PP one timer, its just a nice and smooth one timer that he got the air under the puck to get it over the goalies shoulder(holy **** run on sentence).

Radulov scored 58 points during his 2nd season with the Preds.
Its time for Nicky to just sign in the KHL, it doesn't seem the the SEL teams are truly interesting NHL players at all. If he isn't going to make much money or likely with the SEL none, he should just stop being a pansy and go to Dynamo.
Ovechkin just scored a pretty stupid goal. The ref told the goalie to move it, and the goalie moved it right to Ovechkin and pull it to the front of the net.
Though its not the refs fault, the goalie would of got a delay of game if he held it out of the crease.
Brooks Laich's team Kloten lost against Tyler Seguin's team EHC Biel yesterday, 4 to 3. Laich remain pointless, made an auto-goal on the first goal for Biel and took 16 minutes of penalty, 2x2 for excessive roughness and 2+10 for checking to the head.
With all the KHL hate on this forum, those NLA goalies are ****ing horrid. Some guy scores spectacular goal, and Canadians on HFBoards first reaction is "KHL goalies suck!!!!" But all the good Canadian boys going to the Switzerland playing against horrible goalies.
