This site is really good for College Hockey and has a live scoreboard even for the exhibition games.

College Hockey Inc

Minnesota State Mankato's first real game is against ALABAMA-HUNTSVILLE who they'll play Friday and Saturday and I assume who they're expected to beat as they're one of the weaker NCAA teams.

Post Gazette: D prospects update (Harrington & Maatta)

http://plus.sites.post-gazette.com/i...ospects-update

Written by Shelly Anderson

Took a trip to Erie Saturday night to see some hockey. It turns out, others with Pittsburgh hockey interests did the same.

The Erie Otters of the junior Ontario Hockey League beat the visiting London Knights, 4-3, in a shootout. Erie features a superstud, all of 15 years old, center Connor McDavid. London has two Penguins prospects, defensemen Scott Harrington and Olli Maatta. And Erie Insurance Arena is close enough for a lot of Penguins fans to visit to get a fix during the NHL lockout.

Actually MSU-Mankato has an exhibition tonight against Lethbridge. Due to scheduling conflicts, I won't be in the building, but Teddy will be centering the 3rd line with fellow freshman Brett Knowles out of Vanderhoof, BC and Johnny McInnis, a junior hailing from Boston. The lines are a little wacky seeing how it is an exhibition, consequently you can dress as many players as you want. The Mavs are skating 5 forward lines, 7 defensemen, and 3 goalies. One other note: Kyle Cuminskey's brother Clayton is with the Pronghorns this season.

I know, we were just talking about it on the previous page. Hopefully he gets some decent ice time even though it's an exhibition game with lots of players dressed.

Megna scored another goal in yesterday's 3-1 loss to Hershey as well.

Uher and Kuhnhackl are the biggest names on that list. Lets hope they start producing at the ECHL level.

I watched Megna for 2 years in the USHL and he is the real deal. A very late bloomer with great handles and uncanny ability to find the back of the net. Does not possess elite speed but Hockey IQ more then makes up for it.

Das Kuhn has been in a bit of a slump ever since his great rookie season with Windsor. But what he needs most is playing time, and he wasn't going to get that in WBS who brought back Tangradi and signed a couple veterans as well.

Will be really interesting when it comes to cutting more defensemen. There isn't much space left behind Strait, Bortuzzo, Despres, Reese and Mormina.

Can they carry 8? If so, Morrow, Dumo, and Grant would be my guesses. Gonna be really tough if it's gotta be 7. I can't see any of those guys going down.

My guess

Strait-Bortuzzo
Despres-Reese
Grant-Morrow

Mormina-Sneep

Sent down:
Samuelsson, Dumoulin

Bortuzzo is day to day. So his injury may be a blessing in a way. I would hate to see Morrow/dumoulin in wheeling. its 1 thing for kuhn and uher to be sent down. but i have huge hopes for both Morrow and Dumoulin.

Let's not forget that without this lockout, Tangradi and a couple others would be in the NHL, meaning he and Uher would be able to play for the baby pens. Just a numbers game.

were we mislead about the idea of Dumoulin being anywhere close to NHL ready?

From the sound of his blog, Johnny Bomb seemed to think he was playig pretty solid thus far.

it seems to me the best plan would be to play the best NHL prospects then. Sending Dumoulin down and keeping Grant in the line-up just seems silly to me.

Yeah especially because Grant-Morrow as a pairing doesn't make a lot of sense when you have a supposed near NHL ready solid defensive dman prospect to pair with your future offensive dman.
