Nik was one of the many Russians (actually, a Russian born in Ukraine) who failed to meet expectations that he could transform himself into a North American grinder and checker overnight. This has been such a common story about Russians going to the NHL and having difficulty bridging the cultural gap. I'm happy that he has a forum for showing how talented he is in the KHL and in the WC's, where he played great!

Nicely done. I was worried for a while that Voynov might get buried somewhere in the AHL and never be allowed to show what he can do.
