What a great job by CC! Wish Joe let him finish it off, but oh well.

Russ Martin had the huge homer, but also had some huge blocks behind the plate tonight, great game Russ!

All the pressure on the Orioles tomorrow night, do your thing Andy!

Well, CC was given the opportunity to finish it off. He gave up a hit to his last batter. And at that point he had already thrown 120 pitches.

Teixeira and Swisher who are usually black holes in October were both good tonight. That's exciting.

A-Rod certainly isn't done. He is still a good player, but alas, he isn't worth his 29m price tag.

This. He can't even hit a room service fastball with a 2-0 count. He's the most overpaid player in baseball. He has no business hitting third at this point.

Arod has lost some bat speed. So has Jeter. The difference is Arod has a long swing that isn't suitable to lack of bat speed. We will see this with Teixeira in a couple of years too...

Jeter's swing has aged well. It's short, compact, inside out. He's older than Arod but is aging more gracefully.

arod needs to start juicing again. It's the only way his type of player ages well.

Ball game underway. Jeter with a single to lead it off.

Using steroids doesn't significantly enhance performance.

Arod is a shell of his former self. He really should not be batting 3rd.

You just knew their lack of RISP hitting would come back to bite them. This looks alot like the Tiger series last year...

Just another bad job by the offense. Lost a winnable game.

Too many low average non clutch hitters on the team. Granderson is a strikeout machine. He's not going to hit homers against quality pitching.

Their running into the same issues that happened in last year tigers series. Their needs to be lineup changes regardless if they win or lose in the offseason. Their too old and have way too many all or nothing type hitters.

I guess Girardi could move Arod 5th and put Teixeira 3rd, but I'm not sure if that will make much of a difference. Arod still has to drive in runs hitting in the middle of the order.

I think A-Rod needs to be the full-time DH next year. His DH splits this year were significantly better than at 3rd. Maybe, with his old age playing 3rd everyday just takes too much out of him. Trade someone like Nova for a good young 3rd basemen.

Girardi should be fired just for batting A-Roid 3rd. And yet Fatcesa still kisses A-Roid's ass.

Girardi doesn't have the stones to either bench Arod or move him down.
He's too caught up with this lefty righty matchups.

Congrats to Granderson on 200k's combined regular season and 3 playoff games.

Sad they are wasting all this good starting pitching.
