Seconded, please god find a way for him to replace Bettman.
I'm actually surprised the Blues would let him go though, after they'd finally turned around. I guess Hitch is getting ALL the credit though (even though they did make the playoffs two years ago as well)
I did wanna make a crack about if the Flyers position changed though with Bryz being in the KHL also though. Was anything ever finalized with Giroux signing over there?

Yeah. JL is indeed a "regular" here.
"Why?" is the real question.
Or maybe he just wants to be associated with a CLASS organization whose players don't throw cheapshots?
He didn't threaten to stay there like your swiss cheese of a goaltender.
Welcome to the Devils board. If you think I made that comment without realizing it would be hypocritical if I was actually serious and that Giroux, Bryzgalov, Briere, Simmonds, Fedotenko, and Voracek flew the coop, well, no comment.

We love ya, JL!
No worries guys. Gotta learn the newbies somehow.
Bleedred, with Bryzgalov signing over there our power ranking probably went up 10 spots. Giroux and Briere are both with Eisbaren Berlin. Giroux lived in Briere's mansion when he was young because he didn't like the Philly party life, and Briere had an empty house after his divorce when his kids weren't around. You can pretty much assume it's no coincidence that they're probably living together in Berlin. Good for them.
And Glenwo, I actually live in Devils/Rangers/that other team's territory so I get used to being around Devils and Rangers fans. A lot of my best friends and ice hockey teammates are Devils and Rangers fans. Although our goalie has taste and lives in Philly
Believe it or not, one of my best friends is a Penguins/Steelers fan (I'm a Ravens fan too). I was in his wedding, he's going to be in mine next year. How we've managed to stay so close and not kill each other...not really sure. Haha.
I didn't know you guys had that many players over in Europe already. More Flyers guys over there than Devils so far.
Kovy, and Zidlicky are the only guys who've played anywhere yet I think. Aside from our entry level guys. Volchenkov just signed too. Not sure when he debuts over there.

Yeah I think over the next month or 2 we'll just see a slow transfer over. Depends on how many Europeans you have too. Did Henrique go back to the AHL? I know he's young, not sure if eligible though.
Also, looks like we'll have hockey on ESPN tomorrow (ESPN2 to be exact):
Henrique is in the AHL as well as Josefson, Tedenby(Who ended last season there) Larsson, and Butler who we just signed this Summer.
I'm hoping the hockey coverage on ESPN might do something to get this lockout ending process moving.
Good he's got a place to play. You can assume 50-70% of players aren't going to have a place to go during the lockout. As much as I despise the Devils, I enjoy watching Henrique play. Fun kid to watch, probably enjoy him because I wish he was a Flyer.

I feel the same way about Giroux. If we finished a little further back in 06, and didn't trade our first to St Louis we could have gotten him that year maybe. It don't matter cause we got Carolina's pick at 30th overall! Matt Corrente who as far as our team goes is a bust.

I liked Giroux up until this season where it seems he adopted the Flyers scummy tough guy mentality.
And I truly believe that JVR was traded because he never turned down that road.
Is it bad I hope that Michael Leighton goes to the KHL and then stays true to Bryzgalov's theory that "not all of the players going to Europe will come back?"
And I'd say I'd hope that maybe Leighton would forgot what side of the road cars drive in Europe, and then he gets hit by a bus, but as my friend continually reminds me, the bus would likely just find it's way through his five-hole.

Yeah a lot of teams skipped on him, and much like you described I know I've heard GMs that skipped him that have emphasized they regret it. Same with Couturier. The Flyers knew what Couturier had but didn't even bother to consider him because they assumed he'd be gone. When he was still available they nixed all of their draft plans and drafted him. I can't complain.
Sometimes it's better to be lucky than good. Or in this case, in the world of the blind the one-eyed man is king.
