I know most people are pissed about the lockout, me included, but I'm trying to be an optimist. I'm fortunately located within easy drive of three AHL teams and am going to try and take advantage of this sad situation.
I'm curious which AHL franchises will have the best young American talent, as those are the players I'm most interested in.
Rockford seems to be loaded with Leddy, Saad, Clendening
Toronto: Gardiner
Hershey: I don't know if Carlson would play or not.
Connecticut: Stepan? Kreider?
Syracuse: Palmieri, Fowler? Etem
Texas: Campbell
Bridgeport: Nelson
Charlotte: Faulk, Mcbain.
If I'm correct is 1992 is the cutoff for junior players? Or will Charlie Coyle and Austin Watson be in the Ahl this year?

I am expecting Austin Watson to be in Milwaukee this season. He played some playoff games 2 years ago. I have been waiting for his return ever since.
Milwaukee always has several players from the USA. Jeremy Smith is from Dearborn. Chris Mueller was from Buffalo. Chris Cahill is from MA. Ryan Flynn, Ryan Thang, Jeff Foss and Mark Van Guilder were all from Minnesota. Jon Blum is from California.
The Ads also had a 4-pack of Finns as well as some 15 Canadians.

McBain was traded, wasn't he? Americans currently rostered are John Muse, Rob Madore, Joe Sova, Beau Schmitz, Austin Levi, Justin Faulk, Drayson Bowman, Sean Dolan, and A.J. Jenks. It's a crowded camp, so we'll see if this changes soon.

Are you sure that you aren't mixing him up with Dumoulin?
As to the OP's question, Anaheim will have Etem, Palmieri, Clark, Lasch, and Wagner as the major American prospects down in Norfolk. Fowler played over 160 games, so we couldn't send him down.
The Americans potentially can have 12 Americans on the roster.
Connor Knapp
David Leggio
Kevin Porter
Joe Finley
TJ Brennan
Marcus Foligno
Evan Rankin
Corey Tropp
Brian Flynn
Corey Fienhage
Jonathan Parker
Shawn Szydlowski

I forgot the games played rule limits when I made the thread.
As of opening night, the Bears were loaded with Americans, most of whom will be significant contributors.
Barry Almeida ( Springfield, Massachusetts )
Mike Carman ( Apple Valley, Minnesota )
Matt Clackson ( Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania )
Jon DiSalvatore ( Bangor, Maine )
Steve Oleksy ( Chesterfield, Michigan )
Ryan Potulny ( Grand Forks, North Dakota )
Cameron Schilling ( Carmel, Indiana )
Garrett Stafford ( Los Angeles, California )
Ryan Stoa ( Bloomington, Minnesota )
Jeff Taffe ( Hastings, Minnesota )
On Rockford there's Morin as well, aside from the three you've already mentioned. Those are the most interesting US guys on the team but there's also Ben Smith, Jimmy Hayes, Brandon Bollig (although already 25), and Joe Lavin.
