Evander Kane - only 11 min ice time. Dynamo Minsk coach said he is in bad shape and not ready yet to play on KHL level. #jets
That is actually kind of hilarious and a bit of an eye opener. He's getting coaching flack in both the NHL and KHL. Shows that perhaps it isn't just a "Noel's being so unfair to Kane" thing after all.
Wonder if multi year deals a are guaranteed in the KHL like they are in the NHL? I bet they have way less rights over there but players have no problems playing there while they would never accept the same to play here....two faced IMHO
Khl coach's are weird with ice time. Tarasenko got 4th line minutes on his team despite being the best player. It's possible that his coach just doesn't like the north American kid
It also could be that Evander knew there was going to be a lockout and chose not to commit to his diet and exercise. I do recall seeing a fair amount of twitpics he posted at pool partys and such with beers and the like during the summer.
Now compare that to Bogosian who has tweeted several times his workout routines (even videos of box jumps), weight room, and just general quiet off-season. That is a sign of commitment to yourself and your team.

Lol and today, Zach is making homemade wine. He better not use that wrist
I will give Kane some wiggle room on this. Not sure why he isn't in tip top shape but I can honestly say despite my reservations in the past with Evander's maturity I have never questioned his desire nor his dedication. Hopefully this is just a speed bump along the way and not a sign of a young man who has lost some edge now that he has cashed in. Honestly I am not losing sleep on this one at all.
Tell me about it...Brodie had me filming pirated Jets home games
Not meaning to sound "TOO" loonie but I (we) have formed 22 companies since 1993 and each one of them has a Seinfeld reference "Vandelay Industries" "Kramerica" "Yada Yada" "Festivus" "Anytown USA" "Jiffy Park" "the place to be" "Del Boca Vista" "Yo Yo Ma" "Sakamano".......

I loved that episode when Jerry went all Diva because his artist integrity was being compromised when he was feeding the bootlegger the pirated footage
The one where George gets his Rochelle Rochelle tape stolen out of Jerrys car while Jerry complains to the restaurant manager that his valet had body odor.

Ok kind of crazy timing on the Rochelle Rochelle overlap.......my last few posts are pretty pretty OT and I will now reel it in!

Sorry a bit of topic I guess
In the KHL you're not even guaranteed to be paid on pay day from what I've heard.
I doubt there is any "guarantee" from one week to the next. Not producing - no job. And the players thought they had it so bad in the NHL. doesn't make any freakin' sense...
If it takes the KHL coach/system to get him into shape thats fine by me. Would be nice if Buff was in same situation
The KHL has no interest in getting Kane "into shape" or growing him as a player, or anything else long-term. He's a rental player for them. They just want to get what they can out of him before the NHL starts up again.
And I imagine there's a fair bit of resistance from KHLers about NHLers "stealing" their jobs - and that probably extends to coaches as well.
In other words, the coach has every reason in the world to be willing to throw Kane under the bus.
Did anyone watch the Dinamo Minsk highlights? LOL welcome to the KHL Kane..
I saw that. I sure hope the KHL has good concussion protocols because he wasn't looking too good on the bench. The KHL might not be as safe an option as some players would like if there are injury problems.
