Yep. Talking as though things haven't always been more or less this way smacks of "pop culture was good when I was 8 and is terrible now that I'm 18."

Which, don't get me wrong - we all go through that. It's just not valid by any real objective measure.

It is usually parts of pop culture.

As an example when I was 8-13 the movie industry had a mini renaissance after the garbage of the 80's and the music industry followed to some degree.

This generation sees most of it's important cultural changes on the web, imo.

Yes. For example, Gangnam Style had been released for about a month before anybody took notice and it blew up in about 24 hours. Sites like Twitter and ****** make this possible. Information can be made readily available pretty quick these days.

I know a lot of people on here hate baseball, but did anyone see the call in the Braves/Cards game? Atlanta got screwed worse than the Packers did...

Texas is too clearly the Canucks of the MLB.

Alain Vigneault isn't black though!

BTW, Verlander is a freaking monster. His curveball is just downright nasty.

The only ones I can think of is The Edge and The Grey, but these are surviving against animals.

There is this Japanese film called Nankyoku Monogatari , which was released as Antarctica in the U.S., but this one was about how animals survivied the Antarctica.

Just watched Amour by Michael Haneke...
Fine film, and it hits very close to home, but it is so slow.
I actually fell asleep during the film.

Just watched Looper. Much darker than I thought it would be. Still pretty good. Although that kid is way, way too creepy.

Was kind of weirded out today when I realized: October 9th is John Lennon's birthday, it is also the day that the Canuck played their first NHL game.

Two completely different things that bring immense joy & help me escape the trivial things of life both share a day.... of course there was a 30 year gap between the two.

Imagine there's no hockey,
It's easy if you try,
No Winter Classic,
Feels just like mid-July,
Imagine all the people,
Now watching NBA....

Imagine there's no playoffs,
It isn't hard to do,
Nothing to watch and pray for,
And no trade deadline too,
Imagine all the people,
Angry with the league...

You may say I'm a dreamer,
But I'm not the only one,
I hope some day there's an agreement,
And hockey will be back on.

Imagine no All-Star game,
I wonder if you can,
No need for SuperSkills,
While Don and Gary plan,
Imagine all the people,
Sharing all this pain...

You may say I'm a dreamer,
But I'm not the only one,
I hope someday there's an agreement,
And hockey will be back on.

There hasn't been that bad of an offense to Lennon since December 8th, 1980.

Yeah. Although it was a little absurd how Bruce Willis managed to take down the entire operation single-handedly.

Not as bad as how much Imagine17 enjoys Lennon. That won't be phrased properly ever but what I'm trying to say is that Imagine17 really likes Lennon so yeah.

I thought it was decent.

Also I kinda want to go as a green guy for Halloween. I'm sure my friends would love it, but I'm not sure where to get a suit. Online wouldn't work for me as I don't want to pay for shipping and it might not even get here in time for Halloween.

Anyone know where I could get a green guy suit by October 31st in the Lower Mainland?
