I don't have a problem with the demotions.

I'm sure they are disappointed, but they have contracts and will be given every opportunity to prove themselves.

The fortunate few.

Devane still not assigned, I am glad Mo, Burke, and Nonis and myself think alike on what type of players we need moving fwd.

Vote of confidence for Jamie.

(Ross-McKegg-Abbott)
(Devane-Ryan)

(Yeo-Gysbers)

Scrivens
(Owuya)
(Rynnas)

Am I missing anyone? including anyone who's been chopped?

I'm sure JE will speak up for Ryan, too haha
I would agree with that. Carrick has the makings of becoming a very good 4th line forward, IMO. Under-rated prospect who probably starts this season in the ECHL due to the lockout, but moves up to the Marlies before end of year.

Eakins not the only one making the decision, though.
The idea behind the farm team is to develop prospects, but in order to do so you need to surround them with some good pro's. I would say Ross is a highly regarded prospect...along with McKegg. I think management will want to have a look at both these guys in the AHL.

No surprises there. That leaves:

Nazem Kadri - Keith Aucoin- Greg Scott
Nicolas Deschamps - Mike Zigomanis - Ryan Hamilton
Greg McKegg - Joe Colborne - Carter Ashton
Leo Komarov - Will Acton - Jerry D'Amigo
Spare: Spencer Abbott, Kenny Ryan, Brad Ross, Jamie Devane

Korbinian Holzer - Mark Fraser
Jake Gardiner - Mike Kostka
Jesse Blacker - Paul Ranger
Spare: Simon Gysbers - Dylan Yeo

Ben Scrivens
Mark Owuya
Jussi Rynnas

I'd imagine they want to trim another forward at some point as Eakin's pointed out he wanted to carry an extra forward line (3 players). They may carry a few bodies to start the year and make adjustments if they remain healthy (and needing players to play).

Honestly I think Devane and Ross have the best chance at NHL careers vs Ryan and Abbott, I think they end up sending Abbott to the ECHL because he's only fit for an offensive role in which Mckegger out played him for.

So are these the only guys cut? Or are there more that haven't been announced yet?

Nazem Kadri - Keith Aucoin- Greg Scott
Matt Frattin - Joe Colborne - Carter Ashton
Brad Ross- Greg Mckegg - Jerry D'amigo
Nicolas Deschamps - Mike Zigomanis - Ryan Hamilton

Jake Gardiner - Mike Kostka
Jesse Blacker - Paul Ranger
Korbinian Holzer - Mark Fraser

...

someone please tell me why I should miss the leafs again?

With the new contract Frattin just signed, I am not sure he is still eligible to be sent down. This has been discussed earlier, but, to be honest, I don't recall the outcome of the discussion.

Ill put this simply, if you were on last years clear day roster, you are eligible to play in the AHL. Frattin was on that list, therefore, he can play in the AHL (once he heals)

I kind of feel the same way. Although as soon as the Leafs do come back I'll be right there watching their games on tv.

I'm hoping Frattin would replace Scott on the first line.

Kadri-Aucoin-Frattin
D'Amigo-Colborne-Ashton
Hamilton-Zigomanis-Scott
Ross-McKegg-Deschamps (or whoever is left for the 4th line)

Think he's saying that the Marlies look awesome so the lockout doesn't matter at the moment.

Marlies have a great line up relative to the rest of the AHL. The Leafs have a mediocre line up relative to the rest of the league. The Marlies roster has more promise for success and it'll be enjoyable to watch a Toronto hockey team WIN and challenge in their respective league, therefore he doesn't really need to 'miss' the Leafs.

I'm kind of the in same boat. I'm excited to see the Marlies this season. See what the additions can do for the line up and see how the players react after coming back from a long playoff race. If I can't watch the Leafs, I have no issues watching potential future Leafs develop.

I think my comment was taken out of context. I didn't know wat he meant by that, but now I do.
I am excited as ever to watch our future develop in AHL with a stacked team and awesome coach in eakins. Ill be watching every game or atleast try to. GO MARLIES GO

I really hope Abbott doesn't take playing time away from legitimate prospects like Ross and McKegg.

He's up there with some of the worst free wallets in Leafs history. I think him and the 6'5" powerhouse Brayden Irwin are fighting for top spot on the list.

What? He's been with the organization for less than a year. He's a legit prospect.

I really want kadri to deke past schenn in a game, than I want to see what the brayden fanboys have to say about that.
I dont hate schenn at all, I like the kid but it makes me mad when people say they want schenn still. Id rather have kadri and that will not change, people say thst schenn is producing better, wrong, kadri has 1 less point than schenn, and kadri has played 12 less games. Both are developing normally, kadri is not developing slower at all. Go get em Nazem
