Cushing done for the year, torn ACL. Huge blow to the Texans. He was the Captain of that D, and quite possibly the glue that held it altogether. Salt in the wound since it was a questionable play, and borderline chop block.

Ouch. Could make that defense vulnerable.

Not to mention they didn't look that great prior to his injury, especially the secondary. A team with a good pass catching TE will eat them alive.

Pats/Texans will be a very good AFC title game.

Guess we can rule out the Bears

Theres corners struggle with speed WR's.. Hester could give them issues when Bears play them

You know who would be a great acquisition for this team, Greg Olsen. Why would they give him up though.

Will be interesting to see if the Bears go tight end in the first 2 roudns next year. Assuming they don't lose anyone as cap casualties, have to think they go offensive line in the first round, maybe the first two rounds.

Eh, for the draft, I'd rather just address the TE position via FA and get a guy like Fred Davis. Hell, I'd take Tony Gonzalez next year... Although I'd imagine he retires or resigns, don't see him moving cities. Bennett from the Giants is also a FA.

I'd then like to see us package our 1st, and another pick to somehow find a way to get T'eo. Unless we fall apart, we're not going to be in a position to draft him with our own pick.

Agreed I'm glad Lovie wasn't tossed aside in the GM turnover. Its a very small sample size, but Emery seems to be the best GM in Chicago.

Yeah, Theo is a living God compared to your typical Chicago GM, no matter the official title. However, Phil Emery has been outstanding so far.

Theo/Hoyer>>Phil Emery>>>Williams/Hahn>>>>>>>>>>Paxson/Forman>>>>>>Blowman

Call me when he does something...

Sample sizes on Emery, and THoyer are too small to bother discussing. Only Bowman and GarPax have tenures long enough worthy of having a discussion about.

But since the Sox are yet to announce anything official, there's a clear #1

He did do something... Twice. lol

Agreed on the sample sizes though, Hahn also included.

The double standard with Rodgers and Cutler is just outrageous. Rodgers is whining, but he gets every excuse in the book. Cutler does it and he's a baby.

Ridiculous...

We're debating Chicago GMs, not Boston ones. Track record before coming to town doesn't apply in the discussion, at least not to me, since we're talking about what they've done to help our teams...

Well, if we're going on what they have done, Cashner for Rizzo...that's going to go down as one of the all time steals. Dempster trade was good, could have been great if we got Delgado, Maholm signing plus trade was brilliant, got a great prospect for essentially nothing. That's what I love about Theo, he makes the obvious moves all the time, don't have to worry about him falling asleep at the wheel, plus pulls the occasional rabbit out of his hat too.

Williams isn't a GM of a Chicago team anyways. He's a President.

When was the press conference?

As I said, since the Sox haven't made anything official, he's still the GM...

And if you're gonna give the rolleyes, at least refute your argument. To me, if we are talking about who's the best GM in Chicago based on what they've done in Chicago, winning 2 World Series in Boston doesn't mean much.

When I say what they've done, I'm talking about accomplishments the team have achieved under their guidance...
