To the contrary, when BBO made his first trip to Alberta during the winter he walked across town (5-10 min walk) only wearing shorts and a t-shirt when it was about -20C outside. He did ditch his sandals for a pair of shoes.
I then proceeded to sit in the stands of an unheated arena for a HS hockey game without going into the lobby to warm up because that's how I roll

What are some bookstores in Edmonton that get new popular books on its release date? There's a book I've been meaning to buy since t released on Tuesday but none of the Chapters/Indigo/Coles have it.

Yea I was hoping to rather go out in the city and buy it rather than wait for it to arrive. Usually I do pre-order from amazon but it ends up coming a week after the release date where as others get it before the date.

If the Chapters at WEM doesn't get it on Day 1, I can't imagine it's possible to find.

Turns out none of the Chapters in Canada received the book due to some delays. Seems to be the case with Australia and the UK. Just the lucky US citizens have it. I'll just buy the e-book instead.
just a question the boys were talking about at work. We all can relate to the movie Fubar because we know a couple of meatheads like Terry and Deaner (some of us were, and some of us still are!!). And the question came up if that show is known elsewhere and can other regions relate? obviously, there are meathead, partiers, stuck in an bygone era everywhere, but, the Fubar show really hit a little too close to home.
those from outside of Alberta, if you haven't seen Fubar, you gotta give it a go. and if you have, how bout a comment or two. That show Goon was pretty good. Almost all Canadian actors, save the two lead rolls.

Both Fubar movies were on Netflix streaming here in the States. I was listening to a movie podcast from the States and one of the guys on it mentioned Fubar and other two co-hosts immediately said they had seen it and like it. So yeah that movie has spread around quite a bit. Pretty large following for Trailer Park Boys in the States as well, Netflix streaming has all the seasons on their streaming in the US.

Anybody else interested in watching this guy parachute from the stratosphere?
Only eight hours to go. You can watch live on the National Geographic site.

You know instead of spending 830mil to revamp the Yellowhead they should first try making it illegal for big trucks to be lined up in all 3 lanes at 149st.
