In hindsight, it's hilarious to see Dano and MacLean with hair, and see them all touting Burke as the money goalie.

Weird stat that just came to mind.

Marty has beaten Lundqvist one more time in the playoffs, than he has in regulation during regular season games.

Lundqvist has only lost to the Devils 7 times in regulation(5 OT) when Brodeur was in net during regular season play. He's lost to the Devils 8 times in the playoffs with Marty in net. 2 of those losses were in OT to us in the playoffs.

Some guy said he would trade Paajarvi for Clarkson.

Would you do it?

Lundqvist still has a losing record in the playoffs.

I get so much joy out of that.

It would be a waste to trade someone who is in the prime of their career and just had a break-out season for someone who is essentially just a high draft pick.

No way would I do that trade.

No way. Paajarvi = magic beans, Clarkson = tasty baked potato.

No. I'm not particularly impressed by Paajarvi, and I don't think we need a player like him when we've got Tedenby and Butler. Clarkson is more valuable.

Some more great news for the season from TG
@TGfireandice: According to a report from Albany Times-Union's Pete Doherty, Albany D Eric Gelinas and C Kelly Zajac are "out indefinitely" with injuries.

That sucks. Hope it's nothing major, and Gelinas is slowed down on the depth chart like Corrente.

I don't think so. Guys like Clarkie are harder to come by.

Damn, that really sucks. I wanted Gelinas to have some really good development time with the improved level of competition in the AHL.

Not a snowball's chance in hell. Especially with Paajarvi at his lowest possible value right now and Clarkie at his highest.

Ray Shero saluting Lou....nice article.

http://www.nhl.com/ice/news.htm?id=643005
Quote:
"I followed his career when he became athletic director at Providence and then left to go to the Devils in 1987, and to see where his career has gone is fantastic," Shero told NHL.com. "I'd just gotten out of school when he went to New Jersey. I think what really stands out to me is his honest approach in dealing with people and with his teams."

Edit: Another article from NHL.com, interview with Lou himself.

I'd do that trade. I mean Clarkson isn't gonna score 30 goals anyway ever again!

Nope.
Trading forwards for forwards at this point has to be an upgrade.
Paajarvi could be that... but it's too much of a question mark.

Pretty much.

I'd move him for an upgrade somewhere and Paajarvi isn't really that.

I'm a huge advocate of trading Clarkson now that his value is higher than he's really worth, but Paajarvi stinks. Hasn't really done anything. Just another Edmonton underachiever.

I'd rather trade Zajac. I have a BAD feeling he'll walk. If we wait till he's close to UFA to try to sign him, he'll probably test the market since he got that far. Someone will throw stupid money at him that it wouldn't be worth it to match.

I have a better feeling about Clarkson staying, but who knows? Hanging out with all those Leafs up there during this lockout ya never know? That's the bad thing about this lockout. Ya never know who's making friends with who.

I have a bad feeling Zajac will walk, but I hope we can keep him. I had the feeling Parise was gone ever since Summer of 2011. I take no pride in the fact I was right that he left either.

Trading Zajac would pretty much put us into rebuild mode. And if that's the case, then Kovy will be gone shortly after.

Zajac isn't movable.

As for Clarkson, he isn't going anywhere. He's hanging out with the Leafs because he lives in Toronto.

I don't want Zajac gone, but I hope he stays. I have a feeling Zach will tell him how great the UFA market is. I don't see him going to Winnipeg. I see him going to Minnesota if they have cap space, before he goes to Winnipeg.

Part of the reason this lockout needs to end is so we don't get blindsided by Zajac (and Elias/Zubrus/Clarkson)'s FA the way we did Nieds when we lost his last year due to the lockout. Not that I really think Lou's going to sign these guys early but maybe he learned a lesson from the Zach fiasco, who knows.
