The same could be said about Miller as a goalie on the Hawks.

Wow, trying to win an argument that has already been determined to be moot. So are you on the negotiation team for the NHL or the PA?

i posted sharp for Bernier and Richards a few pages ago.

he's worth a ton to us , but if we could fill multiple holes by trading him I might see it happening

though if LA prefers Kane I would do that... I know I'm the vast minority on that stance though... and not that I dislike Kane at all, I just think sharpie is more important to us right now

How about...

To Detroit: HeWhoMustNotBeNamed, Kane, Hjalmarsson

To Chicago: Filppulla(can play C), Howard(Richards>Filppula, Howard>>Bernier)

To Vancouver: Franzen, Nyquist/1st

Is that the kind of deal you would make to fill holes, zytz?

It doesn't look bad at first glance- though I mentioned Richards specifically because I think of him as very high end as far as 2Cs go. Value for CHI here is primarily on Howard, and while some will say goal is where we need the most help I'm not sure I agree.

Giving up Kane elicits an immediate no from Chicago.

Wasn't me who said Kane was available. I guess different Hawks fans have different opinions.

Yep, like he said, the VAST minority. He's off limits as far as the rest of us are concerned.

2 UFAs for Kane and Hjalmarsson. The proposals just keep getting better, and better.
And VAN isn't getting anything close to that value for Luongo.

As much as Sharp would be a hell of a good fit in la I don't see la spliting up carter and richards especially this fast. Personally I want to see what a full season of the two can do. I would love to aquire and play sharp with kopi and williams moving brown down to play with carter and richards. However i dont see the hawks settleing for gagne or penner Lotionov bernier 1st in 14 offer

Yeah, it's not like we're getting another player on a lifetime contract to counteract Luongo's, right?

And I didn't know Howard only had a year left, although presumably they could have a handshake agreement to extend.

Then do Franzen for Luongo straight up, no way Detroit would do that anyway, but even if they needed a goalie, they wouldn't add Nyqvist or a 1st to Franzen. The cap space is enough.

1.3 mil in cap space is not enough to make up for the huge difference in calibre between Luongo and Franzen. Although if you wouldn't do it there's no point in going further.

Yes it is. If Detroit had any need for a goalie then Franzen for Lu would be a near perfect trade.

No, Luongo for Hossa would be a perfect trade. Similar calibre, similar cap hit. Franzen is in a tier below.

You honestly still think Luongo has as much value as Hossa?

What does that even mean, and why would you be evaluating their value using such an inapplicable theoretical means?
